hi! person with bpd here, NO we absolutely CANNOT control our impulses! tf do think they're called “impulses” for? 😭 i have such a hard time like, it's a legitimate battle to control mine to the point i had to ask to add another medication, lamotrigine along with sertraline both of these meds together are the only things keeping me in control of my brain, otherwise it'd have control of me.

I am sorry if this sounds mean but I really do think if your BPD is so severe that you have zero impulse control, especially when it comes to harming other people (yes outbursts are harming others) I really do believe you should be in some kind of assisted living.
