Thrilled that a project I’ve been working on for months finally exists in the world. This piece in @CatoInstitute Regulation introduces the federalism theory developed in my forthcoming job talk paper. cato.org/regulation/winter-2…

Maybe this isn’t the “right” take but weren’t almost all of the consumable hemp products already technically illegal under the FDCA, the FDA/DOJ just weren’t widely enforcing. Do we expect a surge in funding for enforcement?

I get that a change in federal law might change operators’ risk calculation but most of them are already tolerating breaking federal law

lol I forgot that people are still active here when I tweeted earlier since I’m very much not. But nice to know you’re still here!

Idk how many people are still on here but I started a little series on my substack about 280E. There’s a lot out there on 280E, but my goal is to break it down in a way that’s useful for the moment we’re in. Maybe one of you will find it interesting? open.substack.com/pub/victor…

Trying to accept the reality that it’s not an impossibility that a significant portion of LA (my home for 4 of the most formative years of my life) will burn down this month. Truly devastating. & I know I can only imagine what so many are experiencing.

Kind of surprised that Floridians seem more in favor of abortion than cannabis. 🤷‍♀️

I have been asked on two different networks and by two different male hosts today whether abortion rights are as important to women as the economy. I can't say it more clearly: reproductive freedom is economic freedom. They are intrinsically intwined, as every woman knows.

I am embarrassed to admit how many times I’ve watched this remix.

My opinion after moderating last night’s @PsychedelicWeek conversation. I know the challenges this industry will face no matter what. Yet I was so inspired by our OR speaker talking about what a different legal psychedelic services can make for some & think it’s worth it.
I live less than a mile from the Mass border and drive into Mass almost every day. If I had to vote on Mass Q4 about psychedelics, I would vote yes. I think the possible benefits exceed the known harms. I hope that it passes. I don’t think it’s detrimental if it fails. We’ll see!

People doing psychedelics right now will keep doing it & hopefully if the law passes, implementation won’t look like a crackdown. But even if the law gets restricted, I can’t imagine spending resources on enforcement & am definitely still waiting to see how this plays out in CO.
