The movie IS entertainment, they still have to advertise to their audience. The book itself IS entertainment. But these ads are very clearly portraying truth vs capital propaganda which is a very prevelant theme in all the books.

And you're reading a little too much into the dress. Yes this book holds some political commentary but these are still beloved fictional characters in a fantasy/dystopian story, paying homage to the OG by wearing the dress doesn't pervert the story. The story isn't real.

this is exactly why representation off screen is just as important it is on screen. it truly warms my heart knowing they cast a queer southeast asian person to voice a datu a brown asian queer character. this is everything to me and to so many others.

I understanding wishing we could've had more explicit korrasami content and how disappointing that censorship was back in 2014, but that simply isn't what fridging means, and korrasami aren't a victim at the expense of Jae and Datu.

This show takes place hundreds of years after TLOK, Korra has long since passed away. But they didn't purposefully kill her to solely motivate or push forward the plot of a male character. The avatars are both girls anyways. A mlm couple on screen 12 years later is not fridging.
