Enterprise is the last bastion of profit pools and they’ll fight tooth and nail to prevent EA pilled labs from gobbling them up

And there's reason to suggest it might not work out.
via Ramp data and Apollo Chief Economist Torsten Slok today, corporate token spending is slowing down.
One clear surplus of AI has been the incredible upgrade to the feed by scaled translation and feed that surfaces interesting threads. It’s going to be volatile but can only be for the better. I wish China unblocked X - traction received by analysts using VPN are telling

I suspect 70-80% of revenues at AI companies are from other AI companies who’ve raised money from the Venture industry.
This is not a circular revenue problem but it is a revenue quality problem.
We’ve seen this before in the SaaS cycle in the early/mid 2010s.
All about that 53% voting rights of the joint entity. Markets saw a flying car and the shares tanked 6%. Track down price action of assets undergoing M&A and it adds up

bruh i slaved in the enterprise & gov mines as a corposlop for a decade before my current era. you don’t know what I’ve been thru
While morons talk over each other about how agentic commerce is taking off, the real Meta upside is hiding under plain sight. Post training is the most potent mechanism of knowledge transfer. Largest generalised RecSys model ever. Ads are going to get wild

First Benchmark, now USV. The last holdouts of the small-fund camp have decamped.
Either VC has changed forever in the age of AI, or a reminder that last time Benchmark raised a $1B+ fund was 1999.
Who’s building an open source sandbox simulation? $50K worth credits in return for proof of work
Hello computer.
Decompile and distill Grand Theft Auto.
Make the game set in my hometown -- use Google Earth to reconstruct it in pixel-perfect detail.
Make the character me and have my spawn point be in the mansion I always look at on Zillow.
Review my chat memory and make every mission about my hopes and dreams.
Make it playable online so my friends can join.
When you're done, sell all my video games on Ebay and use that money to fund tokens for my next game.
With all that inference capacity, grok bot not having gone full freemium feels like a squandered opportunity
This is a very interesting effect too
They're boiling the frog and making everyone poorer
But most Westerners don't notice it, partly because prices of flights, hotels, travel as a whole has gone up so much (again it hasn't, we've all just been made poorer collectively)
And if you can't travel far, you can't notice how rich and modern parts of the non-West now are (Asia etc)

The frog boiling effect makes it very hard to see unless they travel to modern non-Western countries - which not that many do.
It’s even harder for those with a little bit of money as their lifestyles are more isolated from many inconveniences.

New post with Nate Rush: Have we seen an acceleration in discoveries?
Many plots & some tentative conclusions:
1. Cyber: ⤴️ sharp acceleration
2. Math: ↗️ some acceleration
3. Algorithms: ➡️ no clear acceleration
Likelihood of incremental FCF from transformer led architectures in advertising >> software engineering
Ben Thompson says the real money in AI is being made by Meta, not OpenAI or Anthropic
"The biggest impact of the models, the biggest monetization right now is probably not in Anthropic or OpenAI. It's the incremental gain that is happening for Google and Meta."
"They can actually validate their image creation and their text creation in a way no one else can. Their validation is the ad marketplace, like running a gazillion A/B tests to see what works. Most ads don't convert.”
"What do LLMs do? LLMs predict. We're going to move to this world where Meta is going to look at people and say, this person probably wants to see this next. And they're going to go find that thing and show it to them."
"The potential upside in terms of just showing people better ads that are more relevant to them, they only need to increase like a few percentage points for the returns to be billions and billions of dollars. This alone is worth them investing in being on the leading edge."
"This is why advertising is great. And Meta's advertising in particular is awesome. I get frustrated that Meta doesn't talk about that. Mark Zuckerberg has never really talked about the societal benefits of advertising except in passing in 20 years."

guy selling tokens: instead of manually prompting your models just put them in a loop where they prompt themselves

I say this in all gentleness - you cannot outsource the Ponytail guy to agents
Either you're Ponytail guy, or you are ngmi after drowning in debt because your agents shat the bed
A dev got so frustrated watching his AI agent write 500 lines for a 5-line problem that he built a fix.
He called it Ponytail. Named after the guy every team has - long ponytail, oval glasses, been there longer than the version control. You show him fifty lines; he looks at them, says nothing, and replaces them with one.
Now your agent does the same. Before writing anything, it looks for a reason not to.
80-94% less code. 47-77% cheaper. 3-6x faster.
The best code is the code you never wrote.
