Highlights from the Central and Khan Younis finale, in which Rafah-based Al-Istiqlal defeated central Gaza-based Khadamat Al-Buraij.
2-1 for Al-Istiqlal.
Two spectacularly blistering finals brought down the curtain on The 1000 Martyrs Tournament in Gaza.
The black horse Rafah-based second-tier Al-Istiqla have won the Central and Southern Gaza final after holding on to a narrow 2-1 win against Khadamat Al-Buraij at the Ittihad Deir al-Balah five-a-side playground, whose striker Ahmed Al-Kranz won the golden boot with nine goals.
Meanwhile, Palestinian legend and Pele-nicknamed martyred Sulaimn Obeid's side Khadmat Al-Shati have lifted the Gaza and North trophy at the Palestine five-a-side pitch, beating Gaza Sports Club on penalties and nailing back-to-back penalty shootout wins.
41 years ago, the two sides played each other and Khadamat Al-Shati emerged victorious on penalties.
The Sea Blues (Istiqlal) and Blues (Khadamat Al-Shati) have taken home the trophies. The return of football in Gaza was mesmerising and remarkable despite the continued attacks and extremely intolerable challenges.

🚨Support Now 🚨 chuffed.org/project/113222-t…
Thousands of tents broke overnight, and this young boy in Zaytoun neighborhood is one of them. The Sameer Project is getting hundreds of calls and messages asking for support, and we don’t have the funds to do it!
The military occupation closed the Egyptian borders a few days ago, and there are no tents or tarps coming in. War profiteers supported by the military occupation are hoarding tents and tarps, and hiking the prices making it impossible for anyone to afford them.
Our choices are to feel hopeless and angry, or mobilize and help as much as we can. The Sameer Project chooses the latter but we NEED your urgent help.
Donate urgently to the General Fund and share the crisis in Gaza with everyone you know: chuffed.org/project/113222-t…

Ramy Abdu (@RamAbdu) has finally responded after publicly accusing two fully verified Gaza fundraising appeals of being illegitimate.
We contacted him privately at the time, explained that both appeals were legitimate and that we are in direct contact with the people involved, and told him we would take further steps - including legal ones - if the posts were not removed. He read the messages and replied “Go ahead.”
He has now chosen to frame basic protection of these families as “intimidation and blackmail.” Here is our reply:
> Who gave you the legitimacy or authority to engage in intimidation and blackmail, or to appoint yourselves as judges of who is eligible for support?
Demanding that you remove a post in which you accused two fully verified Gaza appeals of being fraudulent - and warning you that we would take further steps, including legal ones, if the post wasn’t removed - is not intimidation or blackmail. It is protecting vulnerable people in Gaza who are already enduring extreme hardship from further harm. That harm was caused by you telling your 200k+ followers that these appeals were not legitimate and therefore should not receive the support they actually need.
Furthermore, we are not acting as judges of who from Gaza is eligible for support. Anyone from Gaza (or their friends) is free and invited to apply to list their appeals on our website. Once we have confirmed that a submitted appeal is genuine, we list it. There is no “judging” involved.
Even asking this question shows a lack of understanding of how this works and makes your claimed concern about “illegitimate” fundraising appeals even less credible.
> I have countless concerns and reservations about your methods, yet I still assume you have good intentions.
You should have raised these “concerns and reservations” with us *before* publicly calling two legitimate fundraising appeals fraudulent and thereby harming their ability to receive the support they need. Our intentions are fully public. Yours are now legitimately open to question.
> Being in Gaza does not automatically make someone more deserving of support than others in Gaza.
This does not make sense as written. But if the intent was to accuse us of favoritism: anyone from Gaza is free to submit their appeal for listing on the site. The sorting mechanism is automated, fully explained to the public, and completely open to inspection (it runs in each user’s browser, with the source code fully readable).
As for the goals we run: here too, anyone is free to submit them via an open form. They are promoted on our social media accounts only after we have confirmed that the requests are accurate and in need of prompt support.
> When I called for an account to be verified and warned about it because there was no evidence that the person was actually from Gaza, I acknowledged my mistake and apologized once it was confirmed.
Not everyone in Gaza with a support campaign wants their identity revealed to the wider public. They deserve the same respect and right to privacy as anyone else. You had no right to publicly question their appeals simply because *you* did not know their identity. You did not even bother to contact groups like us beforehand. You also only apologized - after the fact - to one person, while the harm you caused affected two people/families. The second has still received no apology from you at all.
> But even that does not mean I believe this person has any greater entitlement to financial support than anyone else.
Our previous answer covers this as well.

Gaza’s water crisis is a man-made catastrophe. Help here: chuffed.org/project/help-us-…
Water lines have been cut. Desalination plants have been bombed. Water infrastructure has been destroyed, and fuel for the trucks that could bring water to families has been withheld. Every one of these actions puts something people need to stay alive further out of reach. Strategic acts by the occupation to cause deprivation.
Entire communities now count on The Sameer Project’s water trucks. When a truck pulls up, families can fill their jerrycans with clean drinking water. Then they need that truck to come back. A delivery today has to be followed by another tomorrow.
We need your help to keep showing up. Donate to The Sameer Project and help keep clean drinking water reaching families across Gaza by donating to our Food and Water Campaign: chuffed.org/project/help-us-…

Rain is expected in Gaza over the next three days, help urgently: chuffed.org/project/149178-s…. For families in The Sameer Project’s medical camps, the injured and sick in other camps across Gaza, the fear is immediate. If water starts rising inside your tent and you can’t get out of bed on your own, how do you get to dry ground?
Across Gaza, people who use wheelchairs, crutches, and walkers are asking themselves what they’ll do when the rain comes. How do you push a wheelchair through mud? How do you move someone in severe pain who’s recovering with an external fixator or metal plates? Who will be there to help in the middle of the night?
We’re reinforcing tents and using sand to raise the ground beneath shelters in low-lying areas so water is less likely to pool inside. We need to do as much of this work as we can before the rain hits.
Give to The Sameer Project’s Rebuild Gaza Campaign today. Help us keep families dry through the coming rain: chuffed.org/project/149178-s…

Palestinians in Gaza are called strong. Praised for their resilience. Admired for how much they endure.
But listen to what they are telling you: they are exhausted. They cannot keep doing this alone. They need help. Support now: chuffed.org/project/help-us-…
No one should have to prove their strength through another day of hunger, another night worrying about how to feed their children. Praise cannot put food on a family’s table. Solidarity must come with support.
On September 26 our kitchen prepared and distributed 520 rice and chicken meals in al-Zawayda, at a total cost of $1,235 after 11% commission. Your contributions make these meals possible and help families carry a burden no one should face alone.
Please donate to The Sameer Project’s Food and Water Campaign: chuffed.org/project/help-us-…. Help us keep our kitchen running and families fed.

I had a Sad Year but look forward to normal Lovely hours soon, and one day I’ll be allowed to explain it all and you will understand, but for now: my friends at @ProjectMuhmmed had their literal sister murdered by the occupiers. They carry on, so do I. Please donate.
My dear brother Eyup Lovely @eyuplovely 🤍🎂
For your birthday, we wanted to give you something from our hearts. So we decided to paint our gratitude on the walls of Gaza itself.
The young members of Project Mohammed painted your portrait on one of the walls still standing amid the destruction—a birthday gift from the people whose lives you have touched. Here, your voice has helped bring water to thirsty children, bread to hungry families, and meals to people exhausted by hunger.
The war may have destroyed the buildings around us, but it could never erase the gratitude in our hearts. We wanted your portrait to remain here, among the people you stood beside during the most difficult days of their lives.
When the children see your portrait, we want them to know: “This is Eyup—a man who may be far away, but whose heart is very close to Gaza. His voice helped bring us water and bread.”
On your birthday, we hope you can feel some of the warmth you have brought into our lives. Behind every distribution you helped make possible are families who may never have met you, but who have felt your kindness in something as real as a meal shared with their children.
You helped the world see and hear us.
You stood beside our young team.
And you gave others a reason to stand beside us too.
From the children of Gaza, the young members of Project Mohammed, and the depths of our hearts: happy birthday, brother. May the year ahead bring you kindness, friendship, and many reasons to smile.
Please accept this mural as a small gift of love from Gaza. Your impact will remain in our hearts—even if these walls disappear one day. 🤍🇵🇸
If you would like to celebrate Eyup’s birthday with us, help continue the work he has supported. Every donation helps us bring more water, bread, and meals to families in Gaza.
