Other sports have 8 at state. It’s odd how we bristle at this idea in basketball. It seems like the goal SHOULD be to get to 8 in basketball as well, if for nothing else other than equity. It’s only an issue in basketball?

More opportunities. More communities involved. More student-athletes creating memories that last a lifetime. We fully support the expansion of the WIAA State Tournament.

This is a strategy we’ve used since 2019 to play fast in transition and counter teams that pressure to try and slow down our tempo.

Followed up on this shift: The NBA averaged 15.4 inbound passes from guards following a made field goal this past regular season - the most in the tracking era and up from just 5.3 in 2013-14. Provides a response to increased ball pressure while also increasing randomness.
