That 1986 encounter marked the beginning of a deep respect and a lasting friendship between James Hetfield and Ozzy Osbourne. In 2025, they took their last photo together at Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne’s farewell concert. James admired Ozzy and had always considered him one of his idols.
