For the life of me, I don’t understand why Dems don’t just play this stuff 24/7 instead of some of the ads I see.
Wait. Kansas’ senator lives in Florida, too? At least Alabama is next door.
Replying to @davidhudnall
I struggled to find locals willing to put their name behind any kind of statement of support for Marshall. Partially a function of small-town politeness, but there is clearly something else going on too.

Former Auburn football coach (now US Senator and candidate for governor) Tommy Tuberville is telling Alabamians not to go to college. al.com/politics/2026/10/tube…
Gov. Kay Ivey has commuted Toforest Johnson’s death sentence to life without parole. Johnson, 53, has maintained his innocence in the 1995 killing of Jefferson County Deputy William G. Hardy and had been on death row since 1998.

Swamp the vote? So MAGA is the swamp now?

Tommy Tuberville kicked @Lagniappe_Daily reporter @johnson_scottb out of an event after he asked whether Tuberville gave his Senate salary to veterans as he promised.
Tuberville's tax records don't show he did.
This is not how a candidate with a 10-point lead behaves. Nor is it how someone with a good answer to the question behaves. Does Tuberville have either?

I think weeks of questions, stories and commentaries by Scott Johnson of Lagniappe Daily and Kyle Whitmire of AL.com are starting to get to Tuberville.
A reporter in Mobile tried to ask Tuberville if he donated his Senate salary to veterans as he promised. Tuberville had the cops kick him out.
Alabama Republican gubernatorial candidate Tommy Tuberville had law enforcement escort me out of tonight's Mobile campaign event while I tried to ask him a question.

Good for Gov Kay Ivey, finally taking a positive step, but Toforest Johnson still deserves a new trial and this should not stand in the way of that, nor should Alabama AG Steve Marshall. 1/2
Johnson and another man were charged — individually and separately — for the same crime on contradictory theories of the case, when alibi witnesses now show neither man likely did it. al.com/news/2021/03/whitmire…
Alabama 2nd isn't on this map and it should be.
The Alabama Legislature rammed through a partisan gerrymander to make it theirs, and it might backfire.
The list of House battlegrounds from @CookPolitical keeps getting longer and reaching deep red territory.
@marianaa_alfaro & @AnnaLissRoy have a great guide to these races, visualized by @erxclau washingtonpost.com/politics/…

Friends in the national press, don’t let game framing make you forget: Rising prices affect elections last. First, they hurt Americans, especially farmers, without whom we can’t feed ourselves. Imagine if we had this debate on a stage instead of X, and the GOP had their actual candidate engaged rather than the House Speaker stand-in.
I’d put my record and that of Alabama Republicans up against yours any day of the week.
Top 20 economy with $70B in investments and 100k+ new good-paying jobs.
#1 state for exporting automobiles.
Lowest per capita tax collections in the nation.
$1.5B in tax cuts since 2022 (including the grocery tax your colleagues failed to cut for 136 years).
1,500+ infrastructure projects across all 67 counties.
Most improved state for public education with the biggest gains in 4th grade reading and math nationally.
Record investment in public education for six years running.
Teacher pay raises 7 out of the last 8 years.
Put prayer back in public schools.
Banned men from competing in women’s sports.
Scholarships for law enforcement and military dependents.
8 weeks of paid parental leave for teachers.
Childcare tax credit for working parents.
Meanwhile, the only education policy you’re championing would take close to 40,000 students out of a school that best meets their needs. Keep in mind that the program gives priority to the impoverished families you claim to care about.
Your record doesn’t come close to ours. If it did, you’d be talking about how you’ve made Alabama better instead of throwing stones at the people who are actually getting things done.
Between bashing flying furries and professing his love for data centers, Tommy Tuberville just dumped on people moving into Alabama’s fastest-growing, largest city, many of whom are military and government contractors. He also says he’s going to DOGE Alabama. Watch this race folks.
