A few days ago I laid flowers on the grave of a man who was born into slavery. I wrote an article on Henry Gibbs in 2020 as part of my @LJMUhistory undergrad degree, but was frustrated when my research hit a brick wall. Here is the original article shorturl.at/bfr37

A once in a lifetime summer. Started out in South Korea, onto Nepal, now in South Africa (with a quick visit to Lesotho) before heading back to Japan and then Indonesia. I've always loved travelling but this is on another level. #Bucketlist

Saturday morning, well spent, listening to @TheBrownBeagle discuss the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War. A fantastic insight into a part of history I knew nothing about. Thanks to @Sampan_Travel for hosting the event.

Wow, Ricky Hatton has passed away, what a massive loss. He's definitely up there with the most exciting British fighters. Only beaten by the absolute elite at the end of his career. Thoughts are with his family. #Boxing #Hatton

Liam Balmer is going all the way! Top player and even better lad, couldn't be prouder of him.
Liverpool’s Erik Farkas played the full 90 minutes for England U17 in a 2-1 win over Israel in his first minutes of the international break. Liam Balmer also started for second consecutive match as he helped England win midweek against Venezuela.

Teaching is the same wherever you are in the world. Kids notice the enthusiasm you have just as much as the content you teach. And of course, @Everton are never forgotten. We have a new following in #Myanmar

First PL game at the new @Everton stadium, and I have to watch on a laptop 6000 miles away. Have a great day @benfoy02, the start of a new era.

30 years going to Goodison Park and I'm not there for the final game, I'm absolutely gutted. I'll miss the Grand Old Lady. I'll miss the crowd, the atmosphere, the friends, the football (sometimes). The start of a new era, but god, I'll miss the old one #UTFT #EFC #GoodisonPark

The people of Myanmar really need as much help as they can get. Over 1600 people have lost their lives already, and the death toll will only rise. If you can make any sort of donation at all it would really help:justgiving.com/crowdfunding/…

Yesterday was really surreal. We knew it was a big earthquake but had no idea of the consequences elsewhere. Thankfully, everyone at school is fine, but the scenes of Mandalay and Bangkok are heartbreaking.

I always end up doing random things. This one is right up there though. Myanmar V Afghanistan in an Asian Cup qualifier. #Myanmar #Yangon

That result for Bivol doesn't help @CallumSmith23 world title chances. They'll both want a trilogy match next which will tie them up for another year at least. Callum doesn't need domestic fights, he needs another shot at a title. #SmithBuatsi #thelastcresendo

The biggest fight card in the history of the sport and I can't get a feed to watch it. Even the official feed doesn't work in #Myanmar. I'm having to refresh Twitter every 5 seconds #bivolbeterbiev2

We're trying to experience as much as we can this half term. Something that we don't or can't do in the UK. So far, we've taken a train ride around Yangon and a bike safari around the Dala Township. #Myanmar is an amazing place, and the people are so kind and friendly.

We spent our Saturday walking around the People's Park, which is a 5 minute walk from our apartment. Yangon is such a beautiful city and the people are so friendly. #Yangon #Myanmar

We've been in #Myanmar for 2 weeks and already, it feels like home. The people are so positive. My new school is great, the staff have been so welcoming (Friday drinks after school on a rooftop bar). Grace has made friends already. We've had an amazing start to our adventure.
