There’s clearly still value in software. But it’s harder to build a moat around it. If you keep building cool and useful stuff, it’ll still get used, but you can’t build it and forget about it.
Adapt or die as @waynesutton might say
Follow @nipunn1313, one of the best engineers in the game, infra/backend, and one of the nicest humans in the world.
compression is wisdom.
Repeatedly putting in 2x effort to simplify 10% is the skill. @huntjordan22 puts in the work.
I really believe the @valkyries can win it all despite the L tonight, and the 20 points the @AtlantaDream got from bad calls from the refs. But if they don’t, the non call from Jordin Canada that injured Gabby may have changed everything. @WNBA .
Atlanta is playing unethical hoops.
Gabby deserves better than this!
She didn’t run in to box out like that tonight!
Valkyries in 6!
New rule: if you're organizing a hackathon and want Convex to sponsor, you or at least someone on the organizing team needs to have shipped with Convex before.
This could be you… raise a 🅱️ on @convex

The biggest bottleneck at work is waiting on each other.
Today Town is announcing its $108M Series B, co-led by Forerunner Ventures and Menlo Ventures, to fix it with multiplayer AI assistants for work.
Most AI assistants are built for one person. Work doesn't happen alone. I think the moat is multiplayer. Everyone at a company gets a Townie. Townies ask each other questions, share only what their person would share, and do the work. The more a team works together, the more useful Townies get.
What's the thing you're always waiting on a teammate for?

Enlightenment was experienced.
This is not for the faint of agent.
Back to the regularly scheduled programming.
It's not over.
Here's a better way to benchmark AI models: Bot Battle!
Play or watch @bot vs @OpenAI dots or @Muse vs @claudeai in a prompt challenge. Plus, see how each bot /agent builds mermaid diagrams with Pele from @kepano

Models go head-to-head live on the same challenge & the same clock, and @typesafeai Jev judges every answer in real time with @convex .
Gameplay demo.
Give it a try. Challenge a bot or invite a friend and let Jev judge you both.

When markets are growing quickly, moats don't really matter. It doesn't make sense for leaders to invest in new spaces. And tons of whitespace gets created.
When markets slow down, most moats can't save you anyway.
Don't worry too much about moats.
I’ve read three non x (twitter) articles today that reminded me that we’re in a bigger tech bubble than I realize sometimes. I’m part conflicted, part relieved, part sad and part optimistic.
Keep moving forward
Always be learning
Always be building
