Tomorrow, Dominic Williams (@dominic_w) will present “Sovereign cloud for the AI era” at @DubaiAIFest on 27 October 2026, 3:10 pm GST (12:10 pm CET) on the Innovation Stage.
With Open Cloud, you create a cloud engine from nodes you choose by operator, country, datacenter, and hardware class. The Internet Computer combines them into one platform that keeps running when some nodes fail.

Long time a16z Crypto partner @alive_ announces his departure as a16z drops "crypto" from their name and branding
He was one of the main figures with their Crypto firm. From my understanding he was involved when they invested in ICP years ago (so credit for that)
BUT he has ALSO been a huge Solana shill in recent years. When I tried to point out that Ali and his colleagues were misleading the public. He blocked me.
Unfortunately for him I will follow all @a16zfrontier partners for minimally the next 5-10yrs.
And every network they promoted that goes to zero, I will cover.
People will not be able to quietly slide into the background as the shitshow they helped build inevitably implodes.
We are in a zero accountability environment and that has led to one of the greatest financial crimes in world history.
The history of this space will not be rewritten.
But the fact that this happened at the same time where a16z distances themselves from the "Crypto" branding is worth noting imo.
If the people who built this "industry" are starting to distance themselves. And investment capital is drying up (and it is and has been over the years) - that shows how little confidence insiders and institutional investors have in the current state of "Crypto"

🔴 "Crypto" has become a stain on civilization. And now @a16zfrontier removed Crypto from their name/branding
Unfortunately (for them and others) there WILL BE an accurate accounting of history in this space after all this plays out. I already appointed myself lead historian and I've been compiling receipts for years.
I addressed them directly with the core issues. And they all blocked me outside of Dixon.
I can almost guarantee industry insider's plan was to pretend the last +6yrs never happened once this moves forward.
Remember they heavily promoted LayerZero RIGHT BEFORE the massive exploit. Which crippled Ethereum defi.
At some point the brand liability becomes too much and institutions will have to distance themselves.
Lol I saw people asking "what do we call it now" and the answer is NOTHING bc its not going to be here in the future.
People in this space SHOULD take this as a major warning sign. But of course they say "this is actually good... it means we are winning!" ...... 🤡
No it likely means the financiers who funded most of this space want to distance themselves bc its 99.99% scamming and fraud
And to whatever degree they could be deemed liable in the future after this massive ponzi finally implodes. Given they promoted so many networks. And put out "research papers" that were VERY MISLEADING, which I covered a year or so ago.
But generally this is a good sign imo. Just not for the reasons people think. This isn't a sign of maturity. Its a sign of a sinking ship.

DFINITY's Dominic Williams now says NEAR took its tech.
His claim? NEAR's Chain Signatures run on a DFINITY cryptography design licensed exclusively to $ICP, and NEAR is quietly swapping it out.
He says it carries "civil and criminal legal implications." No lawsuit filed. No reply from $NEAR yet.
Yesterday it was snake oil.

🚨DFINITY FOUNDER ALLEGES NEAR INTENTS STOLE PROPRIETARY CHAIN KEY TECH!
DFINITY founder @dominic_w claims a key component of NEAR Intents relies on proprietary DFINITY threshold ECDSA (Chain Key) cryptography, licensed only for the Internet Computer.
This follows his post yesterday questioning NEAR’s Confidential Intents, which he said runs on a separate permissioned chain with no real cryptography behind the privacy claims.
He points to a 2022 DFINITY paper, GitHub activity showing NEAR attempting an emergency downgrade after ~2.5 years, and the involvement of a former DFINITY employee fired in 2021.
Williams says the system is not decentralized and flags legal implications.

Never forget $ICP fam
ICP's reported TPS numbers are fake! ⚠️
They claim 6k+ TPS, but in reality, ICP only does 0.4 TPS. It is a ghost chain!
By counting basic chain functions as TXs, they are fraudulently misleading the public
Do not be fooled; there is real usage in crypto, but ICP is not it: 🧵
ICP's foundation, DFINITY, is again caught red-handed lying to the public. This time to a preposterous degree:
The Lie:
The 6k TPS figure comes from DFINITY's own official website. Here comes the kicker: 4k of that "TPS" are read-only queries!
The remaining 2k "TPS" are application steps, something ALL other smart contract chains have, but no other blockchain actually counts as TPS. These include contract-to-contract calls, timers, replies & heartbeats. ICP's leadership counts all of these as "TPS" today
The Truth:
Once we subtract all of those phony forms of TPS, ICP ends up with a mere 0.4 TPS, or 0.7 TPS if we also counted every token ledger
That means DFINITY is inflating the usage of ICP by a whopping factor of x16245
All while the biggest user of ICP today is DFINITY's own subnet where they host their apps! The ckBTC & ckETH minters, along with their ETH & SOL relays. Together, produce 31.5% of this fraudulent TPS count
One Example:
There was a particularly interesting incident in 2022 when a developer was loading a database into his app at less than one call a second
DFINITY's own dashboard showed his subnet doing 1.3k Transaction Per Second, a third of the network's usage that week
The developer then went on to the forum to ask how that was possible. The ICP engineer frankly explained it:
"Each upload put 500 records into three indexes, and the code did each insert as a call from the program to itself. Every call counts, and every reply to a call counts again. So one upload became about 3,000 "transactions". Written as one batched call, the same work would have shown "500x fewer transactions".
Following that up with one of the most damning statements in this case:
"DFINITY's own benchmark had deliberately left such messages out, because counting them "might have been deemed as cheating (after all we care about user-triggered transactions rather than artificially generated traffic)".
DFINITY's own dashboard counts them anyway & still does to this day. On this day, the 21st of October 2026, replies to calls between programs were 57 percent of the "update" count! This mechanism is also not rate-limited at all
In conclusion, their own engineer said counting internal messages would be cheating in a benchmark; their own dashboard counts them to this day; that is the number they sell as TPS! Under ICP accounting, 1 TPS turns into 1.3k "TPS". Now that is a fraudulent & misleading design!
Discrepencies
That is how they can claim to do "6k TPS" while only bringing in less than 7k of fees per day, while its own "Internet Identity" ICP's login system registers a mere 3112 users in the last day
Their physical presence in our ecosystem is also not at all congruent with their claim of being the second most used blockchain in the world
Such inconsistencies are hard to reconcile. Which is why this expose was needed. As it turns out, they have been straight-up lying about their usage this entire time!
Chainspect
Why Chainspect, the blockchain explorer & metrics tracker, would unquestioningly repeat these lies. Taking its data directly from DFINITY's API is unknown
Chain Inspect is not a registered company & for that reason & more, I was unable to find any connection to DFINITY, but it cannot be ruled out. They claim to be fiercely independent
Chain Inspect only reports the 2k "TPS" figure, but that is still wildly misleading
Especially since they do carry out more due diligence with other chains, such as by subtracting consensus messages in SOL, for example, as they very well should
Weirdly, their own policy demands that they adjust their figures accordingly:
"We aim to include only user-initiated transactions and exclude system ones, to enable fair comparison of different networks (e.g. for Solana we exclude “voting” transactions related to their custom consensus mechanism)."
As a community, we need to point the finger here & ask @chainspect_app to update their policy on how they count ICP's "TPS".
The correct number is below 1; reporting 2k+ instead is wildly misleading
Do better, Chain Inspect! We are kindly holding you accountable today, as your website & service are otherwise great!
Conclusion
ICP is a ghost chain: There is nothing wrong with that, as we all need to start somewhere
However, what is wrong is that they are actively lying about this fact. In the investment world, that is called fraud!
Honesty & integrity matter far more to serious investors, as we are, myself included, willing to invest in "ghost chains", making a bet on a superior team & tech
It is a shame, as ICP could be a great chain if they enshrined their subnets as I have previously recommended. If they also cleaned up their marketing, it could become a real contender
Instead, the community will most likely respond with denial again. Exposing a sickness that is endemic within many small cryptocurrency communities
Groupthink with cult-like dynamics, combined with both financial & peer pressure, creates one hell of a toxic soup
Despite all of the personal attacks that will likely follow this critique, the truth speaks for itself. That is also one of the most wonderful things about crypto
It is open-source code running a transparent blockchain. The scammers & crooks can not hide anymore with sufficient due diligence, of the sort we did here today
To the ICP community, there are genuinely good, smart & well-meaning people there. We should never paint any community with a single brush
For those of you receptive to this critique, I hope it will inspire ICP to clean up its act. Operating with more honesty & integrity is not only the right thing to do. It is also the best possible long-term strategy for success in our industry today
When all is said & done. It is the truth that sets us all free! 🔥

This is craazy. I asked one of our PhD engineers to look into NEAR *Confidential* Intents wondering how they designed their system. Unredacted, word-for-word, this was his answer 😱😱😱
"Everything I found out about the privacy claims and confidential intents is so bad that it seems almost comical and I cannot believe what I am seeing. Apparently they run a completely separate instance of the protocol, which is called FAR (as an opposite to NEAR), and that has a permissioned operator set. The entire confidentiality claim seems to rest upon the fact that it is a permissioned chain and the nodes are trusted to keep things private, there doesn't seem to be any deep technology behind it and it also does not seem to be open source. The entities running the nodes are also not publicly known.
I almost feel weird writing this because it is so absurdly bad that it feels like ... I don't know ... a simulation? I know the usual level of overpromising in Web3 but this is so many levels beyond believable that it still feels unreal."

I think a lot of people are looking at AI the wrong way.
There’s so much fear about AI replacing jobs, artists, musicians, writers, and creators. And sure, some jobs are going to disappear. That’s happened with just about every major technological shift throughout history.
But I think we’re overlooking something much bigger.
AI is giving people back their time.
And time is probably the most valuable thing any of us have. None of us know how much of it we have left.
I’ve been seeing artists and creators embrace AI in ways that are helping them rediscover their passion for creating.
Musicians can revisit ideas they had years ago, experiment with sounds, build demos, and bring something to a producer that helps communicate their vision without spending weeks putting it together.
Someone who always wanted to make a movie can start bringing that story to life without needing a massive production budget.
People who struggled with writing, design, or building something can now use AI to improve their skills and create things they might never have been able to on their own.
And people who are already incredibly talented can use those same tools to push their creativity even further.
Think about how many ideas people have had throughout their lives that never became anything because they lacked the time, money, or resources.
Now more of those ideas have a chance to become reality.
And I think we’re only getting started.
We’re already seeing human creativity blend with AI-generated content, and I don’t see that going away.
People will continue supporting other people. We connect through experiences, relationships, personalities, and the stories we tell.
AI doesn’t suddenly make those things irrelevant.
If anything, I think we’re going to see an explosion of human storytelling because people finally have the tools to bring more of their ideas to life.
And there’s another side of this that I find really interesting.
AI agents are beginning to do more than help people create. They’re helping operate businesses, distribute content, and interact with other agents.
We’re entering a completely different kind of digital economy.
One where people create alongside AI, use agents to help run businesses, and find new ways to earn money online.
Humans will support humans. Humans will support AI content. And agents will increasingly interact and transact with both.
That doesn’t mean everyone will benefit equally, or that adapting will be easy.
But I don’t see a future where people stop supporting one another just because AI exists.
I see more people creating, exploring their passions, and building things that were previously out of reach.
We’re so focused on what AI might take away that I think we’re missing how much it could give back.
Especially our time.
And to me, that’s one of the most exciting parts of what we’re experiencing right now.
