In this episode, I'm going to teach you how to balance the Bonus Rate and Holder Payout Rate when launching a token on @RebateLaunch.
These two settings influence how buyers and holders participate in your token's economy.
But there's one restriction: their combined rate cannot exceed 9%.
So how do you decide where to allocate it?
Let's break it down with some examples.
First, understand the two rates.
- Bonus Rate: Determines the extra tokens buyers receive. The same percentage also applies as the sell fee.
- Holder Payout Rate: Determines the share of eligible trading activity allocated to holder payouts in the selected pair asset, such as USDG or ETH.
Both settings are fixed after launch.
1. Buyer-Heavy Setup
Example: 6% Bonus + 3% Holder Payout.
Imagine someone buys $1,000 worth of your token.
At a 6% bonus rate, they would receive approximately $60 worth of bonus tokens, based on the applicable calculation.
That same 6% also applies when they sell.
Now, let's look at the holder side.
If the token generates $10,000 in eligible trading volume, a 3% holder payout rate would allocate $300 to the payout mechanism, subject to the platform's rules.
So, this configuration gives more weight to buyer incentives, but it also comes with a higher sell fee and a smaller allocation for holder payouts.
2. Balanced Setup
Example: 5% Bonus + 4% Holder Payout.
Using the same $1,000 purchase, the buyer would receive approximately $50 worth of bonus tokens.
The sell fee would also be 5%.
With $10,000 in eligible trading volume, 4% would allocate $400 to the holder payout mechanism.
Compared with the first setup, buyers receive a smaller bonus, but more of the eligible activity is directed towards holder payouts.
This is the middle ground between the two priorities.
3. Holder-Focused Setup
Example: 3% Bonus + 6% Holder Payout.
On that same $1,000 purchase, the buyer would receive approximately $30 worth of bonus tokens.
The sell fee would be 3%.
But if eligible trading volume reaches $10,000, the 6% holder payout rate would allocate $600 to the payout mechanism.
This configuration puts more emphasis on holder rewards, while offering buyers a smaller incentive.
Notice the difference?
The same $10,000 in eligible trading volume produces a $300 allocation in the buyer-heavy setup, $400 in the balanced setup, and $600 in the holder-focused setup.
Those amounts represent the allocation to the payout mechanism, not guaranteed payments to individual holders. Each holder's actual share depends on the platform's distribution rules and their proportion of eligible holdings.
A few things creators should consider
1. The sell fee
A higher Bonus Rate also means a higher sell fee. Don't focus only on what buyers receive; consider the cost attached when they sell.
2. The pair token
USDG provides dollar-pegged payout exposure, while ETH payouts fluctuate with ETH's market value. Your choice affects the asset holders receive.
3. Snipe Protection
Rebate Pad offers optional protection that starts with a 99% tax and halves every second over the first 10 seconds. It's designed to discourage sniper entries, not guarantee their prevention.
So, which configuration should you choose?
There isn't one answer for every project.
A creator prioritizing buyer incentives may lean toward the first setup. Someone emphasizing holder rewards may prefer the third. The balanced option sits between them.
The important thing is understanding what you're prioritizing before deployment, because these settings cannot simply be changed later.
