It’s thanks to the British Empire that your family line of Ugandan/Mauritian Indians can exist in the west as you did in the colonies doing the leg work of your white overlords 😂😂
‘You don’t think your ancestors, who were forced into labour, deserve an apology?’
‘No…’
Reform’s Suella Braverman tells @tomswarbrick1 that it’s ‘thanks to the British empire’ that some countries are ‘flourishing’ now.

How can you not only lie but make up such a poppycock story?
The King bumped into Sir Idris Elba on a Visit to a historic naval base, with the famous British actor telling him “sorry about the Prime Minister.”
The actor asked: “How are you doing though, are you having a good time? Sorry about the prime minister.”
The actor was likely referring to Andy Burnham’s comments saying he was “open” to apologising for Britain’s role in the slave trade.

Updated reports give Elba's words as "Sorry about the rain," not "Sorry about the prime minister." The Mirror reports he was referring to the King getting soaked in a downpour at Antigua's Independence Day parade, not to Andy Burnham.

This is an excellent example of a bad leader and one the younger generation will NEVER vote for.
Praising the Navy that helped end the slave trade while skipping past the millions Britain enslaved, killed and brutalised.
Pathetic
Tory leader Kemi Badenoch praises the Royal Navy and its role in ending the slave trade.
Badenoch says that while 'labour have been talking about apologising' she is 'proud of our history' and wants us 'to remember our history in a proud way.

Lloyd's of London, Barclays Bank and the Church of England have all declared publicly that they profited hugely from slavery, Kemi Badenoch says they didn't. I know which stance seems more intuitively plausible.

Like you literally have royal warrants where monarchs such as Elizabeth I, James II and William III (and many more) literally profited from slavery
And here comes Kemi saying they didn’t. Her ahistorical foolishness is so disrespectful on so many levels, it’s unreal.

🚨 BREAKING: THE U.S. HAS STRUCK IRAN
American forces have reportedly destroyed an Iranian missile launcher on Qeshm Island after Iranian forces fired an anti-aircraft missile toward a U.S. aircraft near the Strait of Hormuz.
Washington says the operation was carried out in self-defense.
This is a dangerous escalation. Iran just got another reminder that threatening American forces comes with consequences.
Praying for the safety of every American service member tonight. 🇱🇷
This is all happening eve of midterm elections...could it sway voters?

The video shows President Trump's June 2025 address announcing U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear sites, not the recent limited defensive strike on Qeshm Island.
