the best thing about this is MSM taking Swarbrick seriously despite all NACT's attack ads 💚 ✅
It’s kinda insane how much National talk about her. She’s all over their social media.

Draw your own conclusions about how much the party that got owned by ACT and NZF in coalition negotiations is going to need to give away this time when they're polling so much lower

A charter school bought a farm, went broke, and kept the farm. Another couldn't renew its lease in the middle of the school year.

The biggest mistake tourists make in Japan is dragging a fifty-pound suitcase up and down subway stairs. Watch how Japanese travelers board the bullet train. They walk on with a cup of green tea, a small shoulder bag, and both hands free. Where is their luggage? It is already in the next city, waiting for them. In Japan, the system is called Takkyubin, recognizable everywhere by a logo of a mother black cat carrying her kitten gently in her mouth. When you check out of your hotel in Tokyo at eight in the morning, you hand your heavy suitcase to the front desk, fill out a tiny slip, and pay about twenty dollars. You can even send it straight from the corner convenience store. Then you spend the entire day wandering through mountain temples or eating street food with nothing on your back. When you walk into your traditional inn in Kyoto that evening, your suitcase is already standing neatly in your room, wiped clean, with the handle turned toward you. In fifty years of handling millions of bags a year, lost luggage is virtually unheard of. A society runs smoothly when you can hand your belongings to a stranger at a convenience store and know they will beat you to your hotel.

This is the most awesome rant by Paul the Other One against this Government and point after point makes the case why we have to vote them out. youtube.com/watch?v=JkRCMfGC…

Fuck that’s a lot of words telling us Simeon Brown doesn’t understand MMP election campaigning.
Labour and the Greens need to front up and be clear on their coalition plans. Questions remain unanswered almost 24 hours since Labour and the Greens were challenged to tell Kiwis what their coalition agreement would involve. Both Chloe Swarbrick and Chris Hipkins have been silent about which Green Party policies would be non-negotiable and what concessions Labour would be prepared to make. Chris Hipkins has promised to form New Zealand’s first-ever four-party coalition government with the Greens, Te Pati Māori and Opportunity by Christmas. The Greens are set to be around half Labour’s size and are campaigning on $49 billion of new spending, with nine new taxes to pay for it. Greens co-leader Marama Davidson told Ryan Bridge today that the Greens will have a ‘heck of a mandate’ and ‘no politician will be able to ignore that’. That’s a clear warning to Labour that the Greens will demand serious concessions. New Zealanders deserve to know what policies would be on the negotiating table to get that agreement by Christmas, what a deal with the Greens would cost, and which new taxes will be introduced to pay for it. National is specifically seeking answers on behalf of Kiwis on what percentage of the Greens’ new spending it will adopt. What percentage of that will Chris Hipkins sign up to in a coalition deal? Is it 20 per cent, which would cost around $10 billion, or more? What is Chloe Swarbrick’s bottom line – how much of that $49 billion will the Greens demand before they sign? And how will it be paid for? How much more borrowing and which of the Greens’ nine new taxes will Kiwis be hit with? In the past, Labour and the Greens have agreed to an accord on finance policy. This time, there is no such accord. That, together with the fact that the Greens are larger than ever, means that the Greens have enormous leverage. There is a clear impasse, with the Greens insisting on record borrowing and tax, and Labour claiming that won’t happen. Can we really believe Labour, which has increased borrowing and tax at every opportunity? This election is tight, and with Kiwis now voting, the choice couldn’t be clearer. Stick with National’s plan for a more secure future, or risk it all by going back to a Labour-led coalition with Chloe Swarbrick as Finance Minister with nine new taxes on the table.

Voter turnout by year 2005: 80.9% 🔴 2008: 79.5% 🔵 2011: 74.2% 🔵 2014: 77.9% 🔵 2017: 79.8% 🔴 2020: 82.2% 🔴 2023: 77.5% 🔵 That extra few percent from disengaged voters really does make a difference

this collapses the whole political spectrum apart from the liberal left into one amorphous lump, which also as it happens renders the far right invisible. The liberal left's idiocy around cancel culture and abandoning freedom of expression notwithstanding.
It's a bookshop, where far right books are available, among everything else. Which is good, books shouldn't be banned. The whole point of BOI is free speech and discussion. To say no one should attend unless everyone associated with it passes a purity test defeats the object.

NACT really are full of shit. Slash public service budgets, including waged positions, find out then that essential services don't work properly, hire contractors back in to do the work *at a higher rate* 🤡NAT🤡ACT🤡NZF🤡
Marama Davidson talks about a contractor she met who was made redundant by Te Whatu Ora and then rehired as a contractor at three times the salary.

I think there are going to be some surprised and possibly angry people after the election. Any MSM talking about parties and polling should be also talking about OP's position on coalitions, and the overhangs.
This is misleading. Opportunity say they will preferentially form government with the largest party. They’re not going to play both sides off each other. Voters need to know this. A change of government requires Lab to have more seats than Nat #nzpol rnz.co.nz/news/politics/2193…

Turnout is key to changing the govt. National, ACT, and NZFirst hope for low turnout, which would favour them.

People are so obsessed with resisting cancel culture that they can no longer see the difference between discussing fascism and funding fascist publishing houses. You mention the latter and they hear the former.
