Students in Serbia persevered in the face of a growing crackdown on dissent and inspired broad support across the country. Now the recent snap elections show that people are eager to vote for principles over personalities. The Student List now holds the majority of seats in Serbia’s parliament following a record voter turnout. The protests that led to this historic change reflect the resistance taking place across Europe, where people are demanding their rights - including standing up for improved housing, education and economic conditions.

Beautiful. I had my caretaker Aurora take one of my Amitabha painted on cardboard (worked from His Holiness' initiation here years ago) and I took one from my bed, how auspicious the light on him on his day! 🙏

Sir, Tibetans say, Keep your head down in good fortune, up in hard times: Thank Democratic socialists instead of taking victory laps which only zaps voter enthusiasm. Be humble. People follow the virtuous not the vindictive. Kwakwhay (thank you) 🙏 @RepJeffries

Of course, dear friend! If you’d like to use my words about the mural, I’d be very happy. It would mean a lot to me. Here I am in Lhasa, looking at a mural far away in America and writing down my feelings about it. How wonderful that these words might become part of its story! ❤️🙏 You mentioned painting a turquoise Medicine Buddha. It reminded me of a poem written by the Fifth Dalai Lama in memory of a revered master of Tibetan medicine: “May the sandalwood fragrance of the tree of medicine spread everywhere, Bringing great comfort to all! May the 404 diseases caused by the three poisons of attachment, anger, and ignorance be eliminated, And may people’s bodies be as strong as those of the gods! … May you be reborn in the pure land of the Lapis Lazuli Medicine Buddha, And become a protector of humanity!”

...Buddha painted turquoise in honor of our Pueblo culture:) Your reading of the mural is spot on bringing happy tears to my eyes , in fact, there's talk of a plaque laid at the tree we planned and I'd like to read your words about the mural if that's cool? Your poem is elegant

this is the Jokhang Temple, in the heart of Lhasa’s old city. It is the most sacred temple in all of Tibet, housing the Jowo Shakyamuni statue, believed to depict the Buddha at the age of twelve. ❤️🙏

...O what's the Jokhang? Your mother's prostrations to the sound of the trumpet is the essence of pure sacred ritual in defiance of colonization -- I wanted to join her knowing we're prostrating in the footsteps of Milarepa, Atisha, Jangchub Togme, Je Rinpoche, Serkong Rinpoche,

Dear @weredstar,I looked closely at this mural. So many scenes, so many stories. I feel it is about opening our arms to people of different identities and backgrounds, embracing one another, and overcoming hatred and discrimination. You mentioned that your late mother was involved in this mural. So it holds not only the memories of your city, but also your memories of your mother. I once wrote a poem called “Spring” that carries similar feelings. My mother is in it, too. There is prayer and sorrow in it as well.I’d like to share it with you. ❤️

Holy parinirvana! Dear @degewa It's raining and sunny here. Clouds creating endless painting dreams. Had to share this misty Aho! Dine (Navajo) meaning liberation or mist referring to when we were imprisoned and set free. A celebratory word indeed.
