At least he’s admitting what climate change is - an excuse for increasing your taxes endlessly to steal your money. Very good mask slip this.
“Potholes will be there because we live in the situation of a climate change there are rains water the the streets get washed out” ANC SG Fikile Mbalula “We are not talking something that you know is falling from the sky we talking about what government is going to do to help” @MbalulaFikile

See the correlation between the two. I am under the impression that ActionSA supporters are not very clever. These graphs makes no sense to them, so they will respond with a dumb down meme discrediting Brink. Below should be of high concern for anyone seeking to see progress.
This explains a lot. When the DA was removed from Tshwane in Octover 2024, water losses were on a downward trajectory. The reversal was quick and sharp. Now sitting at 45.6% under Moya. When they tell you to decrease consumption. Point to this.

According to opinion polls, Action SA and PA are the difference between Helen and Cilliers getting majorities and being left short in the 40s. Both Action SA and the PA will side with the ANC-EFF-MK. They have said as much. And that is what they have already done in the metros.
If we use the numbers below …. Jo’burg can form the following coalition DA + ASA + IFP + VV+ = 56% But would Mashaba side with ANC so he gets the mayorship? The whole point is to exclude ANC & its factions : ANC + EFF + MK We must avoid making PA kingmakers - that is what essentially plunged Joburg into coalition chaos the last 5 years & the city has been ungovernable

I’m voting in South Africa for my ward councillor and mayor but you want my decision to be informed by the Israel-Palestine conflict? You’re delusional.
We’re voting next week. Please be mindful when you vote. Do not vote for genocide and apartheid supporters.

It is crazy that this story is being reported by foreign media outlets and hasn’t been reported by a single legacy media outlet in South Africa.

UPDATE: Still no coverage of the horrific attack on and torture of farmer Donovan Marx on News24, IOL, eNCA, SABC News, Daily Maverick, Mail&Guardian, the Sowetan, or City Press. Naked bias on display. The media are complicit in the farm murders/attacks cover-up.
FARM ATTACK: Another South African farmer attacked and brutally tortured on his farm this week. Cattle farmer, Donovan Marx, from the North West province, had his ears cut off on Wednesday morning during a farm attack. He was also shot in the shoulder and stabbed (with a sharp object) in the leg. And, for the umpteenth time, as far as I can determine, not a single article on any English media platform about it. This gross coverage disparity between the Afrikaans and English media when it comes to farm murders is what makes it possible for so many politicians and commentators to get away with their disgusting farm murder denialism. You know what's even more infuriating? History and research shows, if the victim was black and the torturers were white, we would see this story on every front page and news channel for weeks. Debates, panel discussions, political party statements - the works! The president would even come out and condemn the attack. Again, I refuse to accept the twisted, psychopathic standard that dismisses a farmer having his ears cut off as "just normal crime."

My biggest concern is that if there is a clean sweep by Democrats of the House, Senate and Presidency in 2028, they will: 1. Make DC and Puerto Rico states to gain a strong majority in the Senate. 2. Open the borders and legalize everyone living in America illegally to cement a permanent majority. 3. Increase the size of the Supreme Court to gain an immediate majority. This would result in America becoming a permanent one-party state and the end of democracy in any meaningful sense of the word. All that is needed to ensure this doesn’t happen is 51 Republican senators in 2029. That is why you should vote for Republican senators this election. Other reasons are irrelevant compared to this one.

We’re going to be included in AGOA again and the only people to thank for that are AfriSol.

And yet not one word from the ANC or any of our "impartial" and "independent" media companies. What a disgrace that they cannot acknowledge an act of heroism by a South African simply because they hate Israel and have aligned with jihadists.

When a government bans synthetic fertilizers overnight, everyone doesn't spontaneously transition to organic farming. They produce famine. Gotabaya Rajapaksa signed the order in April 2021, prohibiting all synthetic agrochemicals across Sri Lanka in one stroke, with zero phase-in period, zero pilot programs, zero economic modeling. Sri Lankan farmers had built their entire production systems around those inputs. Rice yields collapsed by 40% within months. Tea output, the country's primary export earner, cratered. A nation that had fed itself for decades suddenly scrambled to import rice it once grew in abundance. The government compounded this by years of reckless tax cuts that slashed state revenue without cutting state spending. This produces deficits, not prosperity. Foreign reserves evaporated. Sri Lanka defaulted on $51 billion in external debt in April 2022, its first sovereign default since independence. Fuel shipments stopped because the government had no foreign currency to pay for them. Queues stretched for miles. Hospitals ran out of medicine. Rajapaksa's organic mandate was central planning with a green label, and it produced exactly what central planning always produces: shortages followed by hunger. By July 2022, protesters stormed the Presidential Palace in Colombo and swam in his pool. Rajapaksa fled to the Maldives. The entire population paid the bill for his idiotic green ideology.

The ANC has governed South Africa since 1994. Shit now flows in our streets; we faced years of rolling blackouts, and taps now make children sick. In Bronkhorstspruit, east of Pretoria, more than 800 people have fallen ill since early October, most of them under four years old, from water sent out by the state's own treatment works, full of E. coli. Apparently, some official forgot to order chlorine. Somehow this party still expects to win the November 4 local elections, which tells you what state capture does to a voter base. Municipalities across Limpopo and the Eastern Cape now pipe sewage into the streets. ANC officials built the system this way, because a dependent electorate is a captive electorate. Central to this is cadre deployment, the practice of placing party loyalists inside every state institution regardless of competence. The result is predictable: Transnet collapsed, SAA burns through bailouts, and water treatment works poison the towns they serve. Potholes in our roads are often so large that entire cars fall into them. The state is a machine for moving wealth upward to politically connected insiders while public services rot. The latest Social Research Foundation poll puts the ANC at 32 percent nationally and 22 percent in Johannesburg, behind the DA in the city it ran for most of the past thirty years. Thirty years of dependency grants, captured media, and patronage networks still make rational exit costly for millions of South Africans. The question remains: How is it possible that people walking through their own shit to collect buckets of drinking water are still voting for this party of criminals? That 32% should be 0%.

Brazil under Lula currently has 38 ministries (or equivalent cabinet-level positions). Under Bolsonaro it was 23. Argentina under Milei has 8 ministries.

1. I have made the case for and look forward to Helen Zille becoming mayor of JHB. I will also probably reiterate my case for voting for her just before November 4. But now I want to reflect on the character of some of the engagement & what it means for progressive change.

Delusional vs decisive Erratic vs Steady Narcissist vs Altruist Quitter vs Stalwart I have worked for both Herman and Helen and I would choose @helenzille every time in this election. JHB needs someone who is in for the Long haul, for all the residents of Joburg. Someone who won't be bought by the Shadrack Sibiya's of the world. We need someone whose governance record is beyond reproach. Only one choice can be made here Now Joburg and it's @HelenZille4Jozi
Herman Mashaba vs Helen Zille Who would you choose to run Johannesburg?

The ongoing regulatory standoff blocking Elon Musk's Starlink from officially launching in South Africa is an example of how state-sanctioned racial extortion cripples basic human advancement. To satisfy rigid Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) policies, the regulatory body ICASA has maintained that Starlink must yield a mandatory 30% local ownership stake to historically disadvantaged groups before receiving an individual telecom licence. A global, capital-intensive aerospace company is not going to slice up its proprietary equity and hand it over to a localized, politically connected rent-seeker class just to cross a regulatory hurdle. Musk offered a R500 million ($28 million) program to fund free high-speed internet connectivity for over 5,000 rural schools, a move that would immediately uplift 2.4 million impoverished learners annually. Yet, the government chose to block this massive educational windfall because it prioritizes the financial enrichment of an elite few over the immediate civilizational needs of millions. True transformation is achieved by providing world-class digital infrastructure and modern skills to rural communities, not by holding global infrastructure hostage to local equity demands. As a consequence of this ideological theater, while neighboring countries rapidly modernize their communications, millions of South Africans remain digitally marooned in the dark. Capital and high-speed innovation migrate exclusively to environments where property rights are secure and rules are transparent. Until South Africa discards the cheap dopamine hit of identity politics and prioritizes institutional meritocracy, it will continue to isolate its citizens from the global economy. newsday.co.za/south-africa/3…
