Flash Back So around 10 years ago our 🌱pitch was struggling & was in need of some surface aeration Well with money tight at the time I decided to try & build something to help This ended up being an absolute game changing piece of kit⚽️🌱👌😊 #Grassroots #GroundsKeepersLife

Well with all that torrential rain the pitch received yesterday I decided to keep the pitch prep light for today’s ladies game So it was a nice walk with the brush one way to stand up the grass & while I was at it a quite weeding too😊⚽️🌱👍 #Grassroots #GroundsKeepersLife

So after receiving a load of rain yesterday & with another load of rain on its way tonight I decided this afternoon to give the pitch a nice slit & brush length ways followed by a nice spike & brush width ways Aeration,Aeration,Aeration⚽️🌱👌👍 #Grassroots #GroundsKeepersLife

So this afternoon the pitch has been cut, brushed, marked & is already to go for tonight’s u18s game ⚽️🌱👍 #Grassroots #GroundsKeepersLife

So after receiving a decent amount of rain overnight 😊👌 This afternoon I decided to take the opportunity to give the pitch some well needed surface aeration in the form of a brush & spike in preparation for Monday nights u18s game ⚽️🌱👍 #Grassroots #GroundsKeepersLife

So after a nice cut & brush this afternoon the pitch is already to go again for another game tonight 😅⚽️🌱👍 #Grassroots #GroundsKeepersLife

So after some well needed rain during the week the pitch received a nice cut & brush this morning followed up by some freshly painted white lines for this afternoons game Well after a really busy period of games the pitch looks to be holding up ok all things considered ⚽️🌱👍

So this morning it was a quick check on the pitch & a little pitch divot ahead of today’s ladies game Well there’s still plenty of areas that are in need of improvement but other than that it’s not looking too bad as it heads into its 5 game in 9 days😅⚽️🌱 #GroundsKeepersLife

So after a nice cut, brush & spike yesterday late afternoon & some fresh painted white lines this afternoon the pitch is already to go for tonight’s game Well Im pleased to say that the pitch now looks to be recovering nicely after the summer drought 😅⚽️🌱👍 #GroundsKeepersLife

👇It’s always nice to hear the appreciation from the players/teams that play on the pitch you help to maintain in your spare time 👌 It’s what makes the hard work & dedication feel all worthwhile 😊 Thanks a lot @QPCrescentsFC 😊👍 #GroundsKeepersLife

So after another spike and brush followed up by some fresh white lines for tonights game this afternoon the pitch is coming along nicely Well when working with Mother Nature patients is most definitely a virtue 😅⚽️🌱👍 #Grassroots #GroundsKeepersLife

So that’s the pitch all marked & ready to go for tomorrow’s ladies game Well when taking all things into consideration I feel the pitch is looking pretty good ⚽️🌱😊👍 #Grassroots #GroundsKeepersLife

So after receiving some well needed rain over the last few days, this afternoon I have finally been able to give the whole pitch a ride on rotary cut This was then followed up by a well needed spike & brush in preparation for this Sunday’s ladies game⚽️🌱😊👍 #GroundsKeepersLife

So despite the continued ever so dry conditions I’m pleased to say that the pitch has held up pretty well after its 4th game of the season last night Well🤞the rain that’s in the forecast over the next 2-3 days delivers plenty so me & the pitch can kick on 💦🌱😅👍 #Grassroots

So a quick check on pitch progress today after last night’s game Well as a groundskeeper working with Mother Nature in grassroots sport you have to learn to accept that sometimes you’re ahead of the game & sometimes you will be behind⚽️🌱😅 #Grassroots #GroundsKeepersLife

So that’s the pitch all marked out ready for this weekend’s seasons opener Well I know it’s not the best looking pitch for now but after all things considered at least its safe & playable⚽️🌱 #Grassroots #GroundsKeepersLife

It’s really sad to see so many grassroots sports clubs being slated for the state of there pitches this weekend🤷‍♂️ Well just so everyone knows,as groundskeepers we are all doing our very best with what we have available to us but just like you we can not control the the weather👍

So it’s another early morning walk with the lightweight rotary mower keeping on top of establishing the most wear areas Well Im now seeing some good signs of recovery also some mushrooms popping up which tells me these areas are starting to retain moisture😊 #GroundsKeepersLife

Nice evening for it😅 Well It’s a tough challenge but a challenge I’m absolutely determined to win ⚽️🌱😊 #Grassroots #GroundsKeepersLife

So still doing the best I can with the limited time & resources available to me to help make sure the pitch bounces back when conditions improve Well it’s a tough old gig with the heatwave but I remain positive as its nothing Ive not seen before over the years🌱😅👍 #Grassroots
