There is an easy way to support fixing this. Build fitness training into police work schedules. If fitness is a component of the job cops should be paid to train

#TerminalList Season 2 was excellent. They really maintain the feel of the books well. Looking forward to the next season @JackCarrUSA

Don’t listen to Martha. Stock some food, drinking water & make sure you can heat a room and charge a phone for a few days.
'You're so wrong!' Should we prepare for potential food shortages and power cuts, or is it the Government’s job to protect us? @IainDale, @Martha_Gill and @CarolineFlint debate.

I attended a misconduct meeting. Before the meeting the PSD Inspector came out of their pre-meet between PSD and panel members and told me ā€˜It’ll probably be Improvement Action’. They’d pre-decided the outcome before they’d had the meeting.
Replying to @SecretCicero
The appeal win rate for dismissed officers is 90% because these secretive PSD kangaroo courts are riddled with unlawful bias and procedural failings Subject officers are suicidal and riddled with PTSD from a corrupt, unduly long and guilt presumptious circus

Not doomsday prepping, just the boring basics: a few days of water and food, a torch and radio, spare meds, a charged power bank, and a written plan for who checks on whom. Storms and power cuts are the realistic emergencies for most households.

Good podcast. Not about doomsday prepping but sensible precautions to get through disruption šŸ‘
Should we all be prepping? How likely is an emergency and how do individuals and communities prepare for them? Listen to Scotcast šŸ”Š bbc.in/4edfv3w

The reaction to General Sir Roly Walker’s comments shows just how easily these stories get distorted. People flooding replies to reporters like @haynesdeborah insisting they "won't fight" are missing the point. He wasn't hinting at conscription. He meant economic consent: higher defence budgets mean higher taxes and spending cuts to things the public takes for granted. Personnaly, I think he's talking about the human cost to conflict, too.
Excl. The head of the British Army says Britons must prepare to make sacrifices for war. Sir Roly Walker made the remarks on Wednesday, telling troops the business of soldiering had returned to the nation's psyche and days of not having to think about war were over @ForcesNews

Ah the personal attacks, if you can't debate the issue, then go be bored elsewhere, I don't need to prove my experience with you.

The fact that you think routine arming is for firearms tells me you don’t know jack about the threat to UK cops. I’m bored of talking to people who show such bad faith on this issue.
the scrutiny following a discharge, injury/death - why would they want to put themselves in that position. Furthermore, comparison with other countries is a red herring, we have much tighter gun laws here, there isn't the case to give every officer a weapon.

Am a big fan of papers. I do use of force analysis for a day job. Qualified & carried about a dozen weapons systems over the years. Trained shed loads of folk in spontaneous response. The idea that routine arming is somehow right wing is ludicrous. All of western world is armed

I'm not going to review hundreds of papers, studies and surveys with you on here. It's a bell-curve, those on the left would see our police with little, those on the right would see them armed, the majority of actual police sit in the middle. Given many officers and friends see

I do… and I can read… this was years ago by the way before response cops got to watch more cops get stabbed. And response data not broken out. Do it again today numbers will have increased.

Police not actually wanting to be armed... but you know better...

All red herrings. So bored of this old fashioned attitude. If unarmed policing was safe the rest of the world would do it. That no one does says a lot about the hubris of British policing & the lack of care they show cops. Rather they get stabbed
Replying to @west_response
Guns don't solve everything doofus. Secondly, the majority of British Police don't want to be armed.

Assume, for a second, we had routinely armed officers, and those officers had holstered weapons. It's not out of the ordinary, they weren't ready for conflict, they clearly came with the view that they were going to have an interaction with someone. The attack was spontaneous.

Unarmed. Can’t protect themselves. Can’t protect the community. Ridiculous.
Axes. Knives. Against the police. Hope the officers are unharmed. If you attack the people who keep us safe, you should lose your right to be here, whoever you are. šŸŽ„ Crimewatch UK

Was worried they’d not be able to recreate the genius of #TedLasso with this latest season. I needn’t have worried. It was awesome…..

I was placed on restrictions once for 7 odd months for two posts on here. No public facing duties, unless they wanted me presenting programs I lead to international academy guests from overseas of course…. That was apparently different. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø
I have allegations of misconduct dating back to 2022 which were initiated and continued up until 2026. When I questioned as to why I hadn’t been brought to a panel no1 could answer this. The truth is that is part of the punishment being suspended

I know people are worried about fuel prices. And I get it. You get to the pump, watch the numbers climb, and wonder why it's costing so much more than it used to. Ā  The reality is that global events are pushing up costs, and families here at home are feeling the impact. Ā  But I won't accept that there's nothing I can do to help. Ā  That's why from today, you'll be able to see petrol and diesel prices on Google Maps, compare nearby stations and find the cheapest option before you fill up. Ā  It's a small change, but if there's a practical way to help people keep more money in their pocket, I'll do it.
