Not adapting Rui named does suck a lot though. Idk why we couldn't have gotten one extra episode to explain in more detail her plan and backstory. Reading her chapters in the WN fixed pretty much all my problems with her plotline in Arc 6

Madoka Magica is one of those shows where you kind of had to be there to understand why its tone is so unique, because before the twist, it presented itself as just a normal magical girl show. However, the cats BEEN out of the bag, so it just doesn't hit right for new viewers.
