Sia is out of surgery. It was complicated.
She responded to meds when her BP crashed. She is still critical.
We have to wait for lab results. Multiple samples, masses, biopsies were taken from her liver. One small piece of fabric was removed from her small intestine. She needs improve enough to get her GI tube out to come home.
Her recovery is guarded for the next week for post op complications.
Sia would have died within hours without the surgery. No question about it.
Her bill was put on credit. I do not have the most current total. Because of the lengthly and complicated surgery, it may be more than originally estimated.

Paws in for Sia who is spending the night at the Emergency hospital in Idaho Falls.
Sia started vomiting this afternoon. There is much undigested food and a piece of Sylvester the stuffed cat. She continued to vomit. I suspected a blockage and drove her up to Idaho Falls. Her x-ray does NOT SHOW Sylvester the stuffed cat, but it does show an upper abdominal mass that the doctor is very concerned about. Sia is getting fluids along with all of the labs and an ultrasound. The results will guide us to the next part of the plan.

October 16 -20. Idaho to North Carolina to Idaho. Rescue to Rescue transfer.
* This pup is too injured to fly. Pup and I are driving from North Carolina to Idaho.
The Coop @LolaPatolla has funded my plane ticket to North Carolina and added $250 towards lodging & gas.
@mcculka_WV has donated the rental car costs.
I have purchased the para pet travel gear and a dedicated comfort crate for arrival.
We are booked with @motel6 along the way because dogs stay free!
I’m asking for donations to cover the rest of my lodging and gas.

Approx Total gas $382
As always, anything extra will go to his care plan. The Coop has already pledged massive support. This is going to be a major case of reconstruction and rehabilitation. The complete story, it’s a big one, will be revealed on 10/16.

It’s time to restock #BarrysSoupBox!
When barry was just a puppy, he noticed the lines at the food bank were growing. We live right next to a school and that means there’s kids who don’t eat so good. barry wanted to help because everyone gave him so much including a chance at life. We put a little soup pantry at the curb. We fill it every day. An inspired child in our neighborhood adds items. Visitors of the soup box have left thank you notes - letting me know that kindness really does matter.

Owen Wilson had his annual inspection and vaccinations today. Pregamed with a bath and his first ever beard trim.
He needs our help in the Dental department. Owen is allergic to everything. He cannot have Dental chews or enzyme powders in the water. He has a lock jaw. Brushing is traumatic. We do cleanings every other year. It’s this year’s turn.
Too, he has a small crack in one back molar.
