Congratulations to all the elected Waitemata Local Board members, and to whoever the new W&G Councillor will be! Glad to see that @SarahTrotmannz will be on the WLB to keep them honest. Also, thank you to the more than 2,500 people that voted for me!

"There are more councillors named John than there are councillors born after 1980." Time to change that! ;) i.stuff.co.nz/national/11493…

I normally agree with @hoskingonzb more than I do @_chloeswarbrick. But in this case, your argument was weak Mike. My fellow millenial's age has nothing to do with the issue, but she knows more about "what teens get up to" than you ever will! nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/artic…

Happy Birthday, Facebook! 15 years today — and what a rollercoaster it has been. We created a friendship anniversary video for Mark Zuckerberg to mark the day.

How absurd! $27m for "transport infrastructure" for a region with 23,000 people. And yet the populated regions struggle to get more than a cycleway nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/artic…
So Angela Merkel gets it...
Natural gas is an important transition fuel for a low carbon future. Germany is transitioning away from coal and nuclear, and Chancellor Angela Merkel is looking to natural gas as a key source of reliable and affordable energy. #EnergyVoicesNZ

Every time I decide to actually look at Twitter again, I'm constantly reminded of why I avoid it - too many nutjobs that believe cars are evil and bikes are the future. WE LIVE IN AUCKLAND WHERE IT RAINS 50 TIMES A WEEK AND WE HAVE HILLS!! Gah.

Total nonsense. The EW link is and was immensely important for transporting goods and people. Every food item, every grocery item now costs more in Auckland because of the direct effect of the extra fuel tax put on Aucklanders. The poorest people pay proportionally the most.
In 9 yrs, $11B was siphoned off for a few short urban fringe motorways that make traffic worse. National was ready to spend over $2B for 4 km of EWLink in Auckland. Road safety & maintenance around the country took a major dive under last Govt’s mismanagement.
