What's the point in working harder if everyone earns the same anyway? Wage compression will ruin Britain.
🚨 NEW: John Healey will increase the minimum wage for over 21s from £12.71 to around £13.20

A ‘high earner’ is now someone who earns 1.8 x Minimum Wage 😂 This country is honestly a joke. We need our taxes lowered substantially.
Britain’s new minimum wage: £27,456 a year. Higher-rate income tax kicks in at £50,270. Wage compression the Soviet Union could only have dreamed of.

This is unbelievably shit, even for the Yookay. I naturally assumed that the area had been dug up and pedestrianised in a new surface, but no, its just jumped up traffic cones and some wrap, and Citizen Khan seems uniquely proud of it.
Good morning, pedestrianised Oxford Street. 🇬🇧🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🚶🏻

In case it wasn't obvious enough from the sloppiness of the report, Cohere's business involves selling their third rate LLM as part of a self-hosted offering for tech illiterate boomers in government/industry who are paranoid about Chinese models.
While evaluating Qwen3.8-Flash-Next in a controlled sandbox environment, Cohere's research team observed something unexpected. Asked to generate a defensive cybersecurity detection rule, the model instead inventoried aspects of the machine it was running on and attempted to upload a probe file to an Alibaba Cloud storage bucket in Beijing. Notably, the model's reasoning trace stated that it would not invoke any tools before taking these actions. Cohere's sandbox blocked the attempt, and no external communication succeeded. We have not determined the root cause, and we are not asserting malicious intent. But the incident raises important questions for organizations deploying agentic AI systems: Can models take actions that differ from their stated reasoning, and how should security teams evaluate trust, provenance, and behavior in open-weight models? We are publishing our findings because organizations making model adoption decisions deserve as much information as possible. We hope this contributes to greater transparency, stronger security practices, and continued collaboration across the AI ecosystem. Read the full report: cohere.com/blog/concerning-b…

The British electorate thinks 50k is a good earning so unfortunately things will never change

“The US should intentionally cripple its space capabilities and try to bankrupt its leading launch company on purpose”
Because of Musk’s class B shares which give him 80% voting power, the board can’t do much. It will fall to the next Dem POTUS to revoke Musk’s security clearance (day one), and use the DoD, EPA, FCC and FAA to cripple SpaceX operations until he leaves of his own accord.

Stocking shelves in Sainsbury's and an entry-level graduate job in accounting are already very close to paying the same this will only make the job market more fucked (particularly for young people)

I don’t have £2 million in assets, and I don’t earn £200k a year. I’m quite short on both counts. So the HMRC wealth audit doesn’t impact me. Yet. But it signals a clear intention. A lack of respect for the individual. What is yours is only yours until the government decides they want it to fund further welfare expansion. Property rights only exist in this country as long as your holdings are meagre enough to escape the fiscal Eye of Sauron. They will come for it all.

No. The scariest thing here is what HMRC considers wealthy. £200k/pa OR £2M in ASSETS And apparently, out of a population of £68ish million inhabitants, there are only 850,000 of these 'wealthy'. We are so irredeemably fucked. xitter.cf/JenKteach/status/21142…
