Today at Hello America, we witnessed history in the making.    For almost 50 years, I've dedicated my life to helping people improve the quality of their lives, and I've worked with presidents on both sides of the aisle for more than 35 years.     I'm truly grateful to have been here to kick off the launch of America.gov, and to introduce the President of the United States and my friend of 15 years, @jgebbia. Joe is the co-founder of Airbnb and America's first Chief Design Officer, and he led the world-class team that built America.gov.    America.gov is a brand-new website built for one purpose: a government that truly SERVES its people.    Our government, sometimes with the best of intentions, has made it very difficult to get the help you've been promised.     Today that changes: 29,000 government websites are now ONE, using AI to answer your questions, and soon it will do the work for you. It's one website, one place, all the answers. It's simple, easy, and there for you whenever you need it.     You can even speak in three languages, with more to come. You have to check it out!    People right, left, and center came together to make this happen. Built by Americans, for Americans, to change the quality of your life. 🇺🇸🤝

I set a camera really close to the launch pad to get this shot. It was a sound activated trigger since it wasn’t safe for me to stand here. That’s all 33 Raptor engines performing nominally as Starship heads to orbit for the first time.

Omarchy Mx Mac 4.0.4 Released! So you want Omarchy with all those monitors working on your MacBook Pro M1 Max/M2 Max? You got it. This new release uses our new Aurora Silicon kernel and aligns the boot process with the x86 counterpart using Limine. It now support disk snapshots and allows the setup of encryption through the installer app. We are working on unifying Omarchy Mx Mac and Omarchy Mac at Omacom, but while this is not complete - you have something now to try and enjoy. Broad support on M1 (Pro/Max)/M2 (Pro/Max). Other CPU variants under development. Please support us by logging any discovered issues on Github. github.com/maralcbr/omarchy-… @OmarchyMac @OmarchyLinux

I'm so excited for this
I’ve been having a lot of fun designing the user experience for the Omarchy phone port. It’s safe to say this will be the smoothest, most customizable phone experience ever built. We can fix everything.

Sweet mother of AGI! 🤯
Can’t make this up…the MacBook is using its webcam to look at its screen in a mirror to improve AMD Radeon chip support in Omarchy.

Aw yeah!
Omarchy on M1 and M2 (and soon more!) in about five minutes!! Still more to polish, but this is an excellent start towards a fully seamless installation process for all of Apple Silicon 🤘

Cursor is now part of @SpaceX. Today, we have officially closed our acquisition. We will join the @spacexai team to help make Grok the world's most useful AI and improve Grok Build, Grok Bot, Grok API, Cursor, and more. SpaceX has built some of the most inspiring and impressive technology in the world, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to become part of such a special company. Onwards.

A giant leap to Mars! 🚀 NASA recently completed testing of a lithium-fed electromagnetic thruster, reaching 5x more power than today's electric propulsion systems. Paired with a nuclear power source, this tech could slash travel time to Mars! MORE: go.nasa.gov/4goVg4g…

I concur
I'm officially done reading AI-generated code. It's been two weeks since I looked at any of it. I think the IDE is officially on its way to the graveyard. The job is no longer about "writing code," so we need new tools that better reflect this new reality. While reviewing the code, I realized my only complaints were stylistic, and I wasn't finding any obvious bugs anymore. The more code I generated, the harder it became to keep track of every line. I found that my time is better spent designing ways to verify that the overall system works than looking at the code. State-of-the-art coding agents are better at writing code than I'd ever be, and I'm going to stop pretending otherwise. I still think these coding agents can't go too far without an experienced human guiding them, but we're past the point where we need to check every line of code.

I finally have all 1.2 million raw image files from my latest mission to ISS! Here is a sample of one of my favorite Milky Way photos, taken from the Cupola with Nikon Z9, Arri Zeiss 15mm lens, T1.8 with custom sidereal drive that cancelled out star motion relative to our orbit.

Peter is not correct about me in this case. I have always known that dangers from Earth will also pose dangers to Mars. Obviously so. However, the immense difficulty of traveling to Mars means that there is a much higher likelihood of mitigating risks originating from Earth. A clear example of major risk reduction would be a deadly pandemic. Since it takes 6 months to reach Mars, there is an automatic 6 month quarantine! Even traveling at the speed of light, a deadly computer virus or AI attack can potentially be stopped due to Mars being ~4 to ~20 light-minutes from Earth. This doesn’t mean that a Mars civilization eliminates all risk, but it absolutely greatly reduces the risk of consciousness being extinguished. Moreover, Mars is a stepping stone to extending consciousness broadly within our solar system and ultimately to millions of stars within our galaxy, which would extend the probable lifespan of consciousness as we know it by many orders of magnitude. That said, what I personally find most motivating is not the risk reduction aspect of extending life beyond Earth, but rather the inspiring nature of exploration and being out there among the stars! Perhaps we will meet aliens or find the remains of long-dead civilizations that lasted millions of years …
