I keep seeing tweets about Werenski & Kucherov coming to Toronto. Maybe many of them are in jest, some are from the delusional. But the question kind of applies to everyone... When is the last time a true NHL superstar chose the Leafs?

Teams with among the best players in hockey (From Kucherov's pov which I'm guessing) • Bos (Pastrnak)🚫 • Col (Mackinnon, Makar) 🚫 • Edm (McDavid, Draisaitl, Bouchard) • Lak (Panarin) 🚫 • Min (Kaprizov, Hughes?) • Njd (J. Hughes, Helleybuck) 🚫 • Sjs (Celebrini) 🚫 • Tor (Matthews) 🚫 🚫 because team isn't good enough or has the cap space. Car, Dal, and Mtl are names I'd personally consider. None have the best talents in the league tho. All 3 have cap space. I personally think its realistically between Car, Mtl, Dal, Min, and Edm. All have the cap space, but assets are 1. Mtl 2. Car 3. Min 4. Edm 5. Dal. Edm may have the biggest talent pull of them all, but who knows what Kucherov wants.

Believe Kucherov has his eyes set on playing with another one of the league’s top superstars and has a few players/teams in mind. We’ll see what moves the Lightning can, or are willing to, pull off.

My gut is telling me #TusksUp will be the landing spot for Kucherov, they have the $ and assets to pull off a trade. Bill Armstrong is the kind of guy to make a splash and their team is loaded. They have $25M in projected cap space next year, per @PuckPedia. Mikhail Sergachev is signed through 2031. Kucherov played for Andre Tourigny in the QMJHL in 2012-13
