🏝️ WiMo supports the VP0SG DXpedition to South Georgia 2027 🐧 In March 2027, the Amateur Radio DXpeditions (ARD) team sets course for one of the rarest destinations in DXCC: the sub-Antarctic island of South Georgia ❄️. Under the callsign VP0SG, the radio amateurs will be active on the bands from Husvik – landing permit and expedition vessel are already secured 🚢. To ensure the signals reliably cut through worldwide pileups even under the extreme weather conditions of the South Atlantic, WiMo is supporting the project as an official sponsor 🤝. We are providing the expedition with a trapless OptiBeam OB4-2WARC 📡. The robust 4-element Yagi provides maximum efficiency, excellent directivity, and high mechanical stability on 17 m and 12 m 💪. We wish the team every success and look forward to strong signals together with you in spring 2027 📻! 🆕 New at WiMo 🆕 Grazioli MV3 vertical antenna for 20, 15, and 10 m 📡 wimo.com/en/grazioli-mv3-ver… With the Grazioli MV3, you get a resonant 1/4-λ ground plane antenna for the classic shortwave bands 20, 15, and 10 m, which replaces three separate antennas in an extremely space-saving way with a total height of 5.63 m 📏. The system completely dispenses with lossy traps or transformers and relies instead on parallel resonant elements with direct 50 Ω feed, so you benefit from a continuous power handling of up to 3 kW across all operating modes 💪. Four horizontal, 2.4 m long radials combined with the patented DBFC system made of AISI-316 stainless steel provide a compact counterpoise, saving you from complex wire radial networks ⚙️. Mechanically, the approximately 5 kg vertical antenna will impress you with corrosion-resistant AW6063-T66 aluminum, CNC-machined components, a weather-protected UHF female connector with PTFE insulation, and wind survivability up to 130 km/h 💨. The well-thought-out setup is rounded off by DC grounding against static charges as well as an included FT240-43 ferrite toroid core, with which you can directly build an effective common-mode choke ⚡.
