maybe this ao3 life thing *is* the security breach they detected, because even deleted works, private works, and unpublished drafts are popping up on that site. a 2-4 week lockdown for that kinda breach makes a helluva lotta sense

YES, earning money from fanfic breaks copyright. YES, earning money from fanART breaks copyright. YES, most of the time, IP-holders are good enough to look the other way from fanlabor. YES, OTW has been one of the major forces protecting fanworkers from when they aren't. (1/3)

This is exactly the kind of behaviour that gets ao3 pulled down for all of us. Once again, there's a reason so many people are against reposting. Ao3 has protections for writers and also does not use your data for ai or allow monetisation of fanfics!!! Don't repost fanfic!

So ao3 [dot] life is a website whose domain was JUST registered today, with millions (?) of fics as audiobooks within their database. Honestly this is highly suspicious — DO NOT email this site for taking your fics down, they have no business knowing that kind of information.
