those of you who criticizing over women's march movement clearly don't get what intersectionalism means and cherry-picking what kind of people deserves freedom, none of us is free until everyone is

pls drag back your ass to learn about feminism waves and what we're protesting over the years and decades, if you're not with queer and supporting the voice of other marginalized communities, then you're only adapting neolib/girlboss feminism which extends patriarchy and it shows

When they enter, we all enter.”

everybody read Audre Lorde’s The Uses of The Erotic! mundoshabitables.com/media/p…
We don't live in a hypersexual world, but rather in a hyper-pornographic world. You can see everything but no one does anything.

Can't agree more that reducing La Bola Negra to a film about gay longing during war is insanely reductive when the heart of the film is the lived reality of generational repression, toxic masculinity and the inherent violence of our society built on patriarchy.
Calling it a film about “what it means to be a man who desires other men in times of war and peace” is such a diabolically reductive reading of a film that is fundamentally concerned with political violence, historical memory, and the generational consequences of repression.

'dramatizes gay repression and liberation' yeah i ain't reading all that, bet you clearly don't know the cost of being marginalized
“La Bola Negra,” a new film by Javier Ambrossi and Javier Calvo, dramatizes gay repression and liberation across three interconnected stories. At first, the year is 1937 and viewers are thrust deep into the Spanish Civil War, where a Nationalist soldier and a wounded Republican freedom fighter exchange furtive glances. By the end, it’s 2017, and a Madrid-based historian need only look to Grindr to satisfy an urge. The movie “wants to be a sweeping historical epic of gay longing—a film about what it means to be a man who desires other men in times of war and peace,” Justin Chang writes. Instead, the directors have produced “a film that insists, arrogantly and aggressively, on its own monumentality”. Even compelling performances from Glenn Close, Penélope Cruz, and Lola Dueñas fail to rescue the extravagantly overwrought film. Read Chang's full review: newyorker.com/culture/the-cu…

i am well aware justin chang who defends brokeback mountain back in years ago wrote this review, but to belittle a movement for it just to seek momentum clearly needs a little bit of nuance, we all need a momentum to thrive and clearly the message this film trying to say delivers

no but imagine being so used to people talking around you, rather than to you, that a simple question feels more intimate than almost anything else

Karl Marx was right. He warned us that capitalism would result in a dictatorship of the super rich. Look at our lives now. The super rich are controlling everything, but they are never on the ballot paper.
