I welcome the inclusion of Ugandan passport holders into South Africa's Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) system. Eligible travellers can now apply online for short-term visits of up to 90 days via eta.dha.gov.za. No physical visits to their mission or visa centre is required. This process is faster, more convenient and reliable. This is a practical and welcome result of our strong bilateral cooperation. I thank the two foreign ministers of our countries for quickly working towards this goal. Ugandan and South African friendship and co-operation remains strong. Mwebare.

The message from @Dr_JeanKaseya is clear, we need to act now. Fighting Ebola requires urgent funding, testing kits, medical supplies, skilled response teams and stronger community surveillance. At ICER, we recognise that research must translate into timely action so by working across borders and putting evidence into practice, we can detect outbreaks earlier, contain their spread and save lives. @AfricaCDC

PUBLISHED! Of all the papers I’ve authored—even in high end journals; this one is my absolute favorite. Here, we share how a clinical #trial was launched in record time during Uganda's Sudan #Ebola outbreak.
In a region heavily experiencing frequent epidemics, rapid trial activation to provide evidence needed to support deployment of medical countermeasures is a non-negotiable.
Here we offer an active blueprint to help teams deploy rapid, compliant clinical trials during disease #outbreaks.
