I had to check, and then double check, to make sure this was actually an official social media account for the United States Navy.
To my deep sadness, it is genuine.
This pathetic video displays a threat environment that does not exist except in a very poorly constructed work of fiction.
If this is meant to encourage young Americans to join the Navy, thinking they could be a part of something that’s tough and strong that will make the adversaries turn around in fear, you are fooling yourselves, and fooling American men and women into signing up for service that will come crashing down around there shoulders if we ever engage in genuine naval combat against a peer adversary.
This is the worst sort of self deception I can even imagine.
