Why didn't our parents just take the chicken out the freezer before they went to work? I'm starting to think the elders were slow

If you can't stand regular people, you'll never make real money.
That's a hard truth, but it's the truth. Money moves from people who know less to people who know more. That's the game. So if you look down on people who don't know what you know, you're cutting yourself off from the very people who pay you.
A lot of smart people have a fantasy about wealth. Suit on, nice office, coffee in hand, money just rolling in. That's not how it works. Real money is made in the mud. It's made dealing with real people, real problems, small details, messy relationships. And not just being around those people but actually serving them. Giving them something real.
Here's where most smart people go wrong: they think they're above the market. They see somebody fall for something obvious, or not understand something simple, and their first thought is "how are people this dumb?" The second you think that, you're not in the market anymore. You're standing outside it, judging it.
The market is not a classroom. Nobody's waiting for your logic lesson. The market is loud, emotional, and human. People want to feel something. They want confidence. They want to look good, feel good, be seen. They want the shortcut, the status, the story. If you hate that, you don't hate "dumb people" you hate human nature. And you can't sell to human nature while hating it.
Look at the biggest business people alive. They don't act too good for any of it. They perform when they have to perform. They stay relatable when they have to stay relatable. They meet people where they are. That's why they win.
And there are two traps I see people fall into when they try to escape this.
The first trap: "I'll just sell to rich people, they're smarter." Rich doesn't mean sharp in every area. A person can be a killer in their own business and still have blind spots everywhere else , their image, their legacy, their ego, wanting to stay young, wanting to be remembered. Everybody has a soft spot. The smartest sellers know how to find it and serve it.
The second trap: "I'll just sell to people with taste, people who get it." Good luck. People with real taste are rare, so your market is tiny from day one. And they're usually more educated on the product than you are, pickier than you are, harder to impress than you are. When everybody in the room is equally sharp, nobody makes money. Nobody wants to pay. It becomes a staring contest.
At the end of the day, business is simple: understand people and work with human nature, not against it. The first step to real money isn't a fancier business model. It's dropping the arrogance. Step out of the ivory tower, get in the mix, and respect what regular people actually want , even the wants you'd call greedy or vain. The moment you stop hating that and start serving it, that's when the money starts moving toward you.
