Film Screening at Pa Gya! In the Shadow of the Ring Sunday 18 October 2026 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM Foundation for Contemporary Art-Ghana Ivy Gbeze In the Shadow of the Ring explores the lived experiences of women boxers in Ghana, tracing the resilience, sacrifice, and determination that define their pursuit of the sport. Moving beyond the spectacle of competition, the film examines the structural barriers, gender expectations, and everyday realities that shape their journeys. Through intimate storytelling, the documentary invites audiences to reflect on visibility, equality, and the enduring strength of women whose stories have too often remained at the margins. Rather than offering definitive answers, the documentary creates space for the voices of its participants, inviting viewers to reflect on representation, visibility, and the realities that exist beyond the boxing ring. #pagya #PaGya2026 #pagyaat10
