I’ve been asked a few questions about the CCTV tapes stolen from Hillsborough stadium on the evening of the disaster, so thought I would do a thread on it
This is the crime report for the theft from 21/4/89
Note the double underlining of the “NO PUBLICITY” instruction

When Hicks and Gillett put LFC in serious danger we didn't blame other clubs and how they were able to do things... we blamed our owners. So why are City fans angry at everyone but their owners? Who agreed to the rules that they broke that have put the club in serious danger

🚨 The Manchester City scandal excellently explained by the brilliant illustrations of Sports Ball. 💰⚽️
Give this man a medal. 🥇👏

What are Man City up to here?
They’ve been nicked because it’s was found that the government were behind sponsorships city claimed were from companies
Now they’re saying, it wasn’t the companies, it was the government, almost an admission of guilt
Is their plan now to try and make it a diplomatic issue and make the PL and UK prosecution to take on Abu Dhabi as a country as opposed to Man City the club?
An attempt at trying to muscle and threaten their way out of cheating. Another reason to seriously consider expelling them from the league.

The fact that 62k people still follow that around Liverpool account in the big 2026 is insane to me.
No evidence has been seen that drinking on 15/4/89 was any different to any other big game at Hillsborough
If you look at hard data sources (rather than rumour and witness evidence) sources such as pub takings, CCTV footage, numbers of arrests, licensee reports and litter bins all suggest that fan behaviour and drinking was unremarkable

Just a note on Hillsborough and alcohol, given the debate now going on about drinking within view of football pitches.
1. In 2 lengthy inquests and a public inquiry, no credible evidence has been put forward that drinking on 15/4/89 was any different to any other big game of the era
2. Hard data sources such as pub takings, CCTV footage, numbers of arrests, pub/ shop licensee reports and litter bins all suggest that fan behaviour and drinking was unremarkable
3. The Hillsborough Independent Panel found that alcohol consumption was ‘reasonable and unexceptional for a sporting event’
4. The Panel (and the 2016 inquest jury) also found that drinking by *fans* played no part in the genesis of the disaster
5. However, it is not clear what senior police commanders were doing in the run up to the game in their ‘missing hours’. Investigators appear to have hit a wall of silence here.
6. Various inquiries have criticised South Yorkshire Police for promoting - without evidence - a portrayal of drunkenness causing the disaster, in order to deflect from their own very serious failures.
7. The National Police Chiefs Council (formerly ACPO) have apologised for blaming fans for the disaster, and for the police failures that did actually cause it

This is low, even by the standards of the UK Football policing unit, casually linking the Taylor report post Hillsborough and football tragedies to changes in the law on drinking at matches
Drinking in view of the pitch didn’t cause deaths or injuries - policing failures did

If they want to talk about alcohol consumption at Hillsborough they should focus their attention on where the match commander went in the hours leading up to the start of the game.

If they wanted to be accurate about what Taylor said, and causes of the football related tragedies, they might want to use this.
"the main reason for the disaster was the failure of police control"

South Yorkshire Police sent out their crime scene photographers to photograph litter around Hillsborough after the disaster
This is the best evidence that they could find

Alcohol consumption - by police chiefs - was a significant factor.
It's irresponsible, vindictive and factually incorrect for @PoliceChiefs to attribute alcohol consumption (by supporters) as a cause of the Hillsborough disaster. A full retraction, apology and recognition of catastrophic policing failures causing the disaster is needed.
1. Liverpool fans have been repeatedly cleared of causing the 1989 Hillsborough disaster, most notably in unanimous finding of the 2016 inquest jury that specifically found that fans didn’t cause (nor even contribute to causing) the disaster
2. The inquest jury did find that the those that died at Hillsborough had been unlawfully killed, but as a result of gross negligence, particularly by South Yorkshire Police
3. South Yorkshire and the National Police Chiefs Council have repeatedly apologised for Hillsborough, and for blaming fans
4. You are a dumb fuck

Who remembers this guy, James White, who wore a “97 Not Enough” shirt to the 2023 FA Cup Final, mocking the Hillsborough victims?
He laughed during his sentencing in court when he received a 4 year banning order
He’s just been sentenced to 24 years in jail for rape, sexual assault of a child, and domestic violence.
Always something deeply wrong with these trolls
Sympathy to his victims
For all the Forest fans singing ‘sign on’ here are the respective unemployment rates for Nottingham vs Liverpool

Well well well I was involved in the prosecution of this scumbag over his disgusting T Shirt, but that seems minimal now compared to the R@pe, assault and abuse that this poor lady had to endure.
How brave she has been to seek help and tell someone what he was doing to her!
