At the International Monetary and Finance Committee Meeting (IMFC) of Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors in Bangkok discussing the state of the global economy, its resilience and the key risks. I shared on the centrality of trade to global growth; the latest data on the resilience of trade which mirrors that of the global economy, and is driven largely by growth in AI trade. All agreed that resilience should not breed complacency. We must deal with key risks, including macroeconomic imbalances, and in the case of @wto, implement key reforms. With my sisters, Kristalina Georgieva @KGeorgieva MD of @IMF_news and Christine @Lagarde President of @ecb. Also with Pablo Hernandez de Cos, GM of @BIS_org.

A very fruitful meeting of Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs) on trade and supply chain finance, co-chaired by me and MD @IFC_org Makhtar Diop. MDBs have increased their financing of trade transactions from about $35 billion annually pre-COVID-19 to $65 billion in 2026, representing considerable progress but the gap still remains large. Forward planning includes a push to further scale up. With CEOs or representatives of @EBRD, @ADB_HQ, @AfDB_Group, @afreximbank, @the_IDB, and ITFC. It was great to have the attendance of @ICCSecGen John Denton, Duarte Pedreira, Board Member ITFA, and the able moderation of Denis Medvedev, Global Director for Trade World Bank Group. Many thanks to our team, Nathalie Louat, IFC Global Director Trade Finance, Mohamed Gouled, IFC VP Products and Clients, and Marc Auboin, @wto Section Chief Trade Finance.
