You can ask NICELY to remove a fic from a drive because, LEGALLY, YOU ALREADY AGREED TO IT THE SECOND YOU HIT 'POST'. And they can deny you because THEY KNOW YOU AREALDY AGREED TO THE DOWNLOAD AND ARCHIVE. Jesus, as a writer and a lawyer, I'm tempted to hit you all with hammers.

Ppl used to go on livejournal/tumblr/forums/etc and ask if anyone had saved x fic bc the link is now dead all the time. Saving and sharing was a Necessary part of fandom bc of how often stuff got pulled. That established culture is Why that's built into ao3 to begin with !!! smh
