West Boca handed American Heritage (Plantation) their largest loss since - wait for it - 2014. It’s also the first time since 2014 that Heritage lost to a team from Palm Beach 😳 I think the guy nobody is talking about is West Boca defensive coordinator Alfonso Moran. Boy did that defense look like the best defense in the entire state Friday night. They had 5 TFL and 3 sacks. West Boca held 4-star Texas commit Neimann Lawrence to 11/24 passing for just 56 yards. He had -11 rushing yards. Alfonso won the Palm Beach County Coach of the Year award at the Lou Groza Award Celebration back in 2013 when he was HC at West Boca. He is also the father of West Boca starting QB Trey Moran and backup QB Alex Moran. How good has Trey been by the way? The definition of a dual-threat and he has full command of the offense even on the road against a nationally ranked opponent. Trey completed 13 passes for 195 yards and 2 TD’s. He also had a rushing TD. Forget the best defense in Palm Beach County. Let’s talk about the best in the state.

Player Spotlight: Jaydin Broadnax (@jbroadnax_5 ) 6’3” 190 lbs, true freshman out of West Boca Raton High School, and a blue-chip four-star Top 200 recruit. Broadnax is a prototype corner in today’s game. He has elite length , and the kind of frame you can line up on an island and trust. Broadnax built his name going toe to toe with elite competition. At Under Armour Miami, he did not just show up, he was the showcase . One of the few DBs in that setting that could consistently hang with top-tier pass catchers. He’s built to play physical. Jaydin is comfortable in press, uses his hands well, and understands how to win at the line before turning and running. An element that separates him is the balance. He can bump and run, but he’s just as comfortable reading in zone, trusting his eyes, and breaking on the football. Louisville beat out a host of SEC programs to land him, and that was one of the bigger recruiting wins in the 2026 class for the Cards. Broadnax is advanced beyond his years in both movement and understanding. The footwork, the ability to stay in phase and put himself in position to make plays, it all shows up early. He was one of the headliners of this high school class. Expect Broadnax to push early, and make his presence felt in a loaded secondary. Jaydin Broadnax is not just a future piece, he’s a cornerstone for what this defense is becoming.
