Hot take: I find most euro games, even "gateway," very difficult to learn for most people.
You need to deconstruct the entire scoring matrix in order to understand your basic incentives.
The core game loop is often "simple," but knowing what to do =/= knowing how to play.

PAXU Highlights #4: Got to playtest @xopherchan ‘s game about a bunch of Possums in a Trenchcoat stealing trash from a mall. This already had a lot of polish & nailed the goofy chaotic theme! Made me laugh & smile a ton. Unfortunately no pictures this time but watch this one!

I helped a woman working behind the counter at a local Speedway until paramedics arrived.
I hope she's well, but more than anything, the situation makes me angry. At the other customers, the location she works at, the police who watched us until paramedics arrived.

It’s valuable to a game designer to decouple these both intellectually (as analytical statements) and emotionally (as value statements)
