Oracle Database@Azure -- big announcement made by Microsoft and Oracle yesterday; read more about what this means here medium.com/@paul.bullen/orac… #oracle #licensing #azure @version1

Now that @OracleDatabase is released on aarch64, if you think about running on @awscloud Graviton 2, look at the pricing: that's 1 processor license per vCPU (vs. one per 2 vCPU on hyperthreaded x86-64).
The "core factor" makes it x4 more expensive than on @OracleCloud's Arm – at Aubonne, Suisse

Imagine! It‘s the 10th #anniversary of @Oracle #multitenant!
In 19c you get up to three PDBs per CDB without the need for the Multitenant database option license.
In 21c and higher, the Multitenant Architecture is mandatory for @OracleDatabase.

Thank you for writing this-- I've tried to say this many times to customers considering "virtual patching" "solutions". I'd previously seen the @petefinnigan blog ; it is great to have another voice saying the same!
Virtual Patching – the biggest nonsense I’ve ever heard about mikedietrichde.com/2022/08/0…
This is amazing; proves keeping things simple and optimised can transform an organisation.
Brompton folding bicycles are a British urban icon. So when we heard they had been using Raspberry Pi in their production since 2013, we just *had* to go and have a look.

Ran into another customer upgrading @OracleDatabase to 12.2 from 11g...DO NOT DO THAT.
Go all the way up to 19c.
@MikeDietrichDE has a very good reason why =>
