I am still too autistic to understand being told “omg we need to hang out” “hey let’s sit on the porch sometime while the kids play” “hey girl let’s make plans!!” 2-3 times a week ACTUALLY means “no I don’t want to hang out, wtf gave you that idea?”

If you were in your school's gifted and talented program in the 90s, how's it going with your ADHD/Autism, perfectionism-turned-burnout, and high-functioning anxiety?
Bonus points if you're an eldest daughter and on a spiritual journey.

If you’re ever stressed, here’s what I do: I drink a big pot of coffee and then I start worrying. It doesn’t help but that’s what I do

Marijuana is cheaper than 5 or so medications. It’s better on your whole being. It is a wonderful plant

Neurotypicals: Saturdays are for doing nothing.
ADHDers: I scheduled nothing and still managed to be late to it, guilty about it, and somehow exhausted by it.
A man in front of me at the supermarket was arguing with the cashier.
He was short about $7. He checked his wallet three times, then his pockets. Nothing.
People behind him started getting impatient.
I was about to offer to pay when the woman behind the register quietly took $7 from her own purse.
“It's okay,” she said.
The man looked embarrassed.
“I'll bring it back.”
She shook her head.
“Don't.”
He thanked her and left.
I asked her why she did it...
My grandfather once caught me looking through an old photo album.
He sat beside me and pointed at a picture.
“That's your grandmother.”
I said: “I know.”
He smiled.
“You didn't know her then.”
I looked at him.
He said:
“She was nineteen in that picture.”
Then he stared at it for a while.
I asked: “What was she like?”
He smiled.
“Exactly like that.”
I laughed.
“That doesn't tell me anything.”
He said:
“It tells you everything.”
Then he closed the album.
“I still see her that way sometimes.”

I believe cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome is real and is increasingly becoming more common because of higher THC levels. BUT if a patient comes to a doctor with symptoms of CHS, other things need to be ruled out FIRST before CHS is diagnosed.

A good blunt doesn’t fix everything. It just gives you a few quiet minutes to stop making everything worse.

To everyone I've ghosted over the years:
I didn't stop caring. I stopped seeing you.
That's the cruel part of my ADHD
if you're not in front of me, my brain
quietly files you under "later."
And later never comes.
But the feelings were real.
The friendship was real.
You still cross my mind at 2am,
and I still don't text.
The distance was never the depth.
You're still dear to me. Even now.
Even after all these years of silence.
