Employee terminated successfully
We discovered a sophisticated recording device that was hidden inside one of our offices. We used our models to understand the device and where it had come from, identifying that a specific employee had planted it a few days earlier. We referred the matter to the FBI, and we’re grateful to the agents and prosecutors who moved quickly to make an arrest. The FBI’s investigation is ongoing and we will continue to support their work.
At this time, we have no indications of this individual inappropriately accessing or exfiltrating model weights, source code, or customer data. The employee was terminated.
We take protecting our technology, data, and people seriously, and as a matter of national importance. Our security program is designed to protect against a wide range of threat actors, from insider risks to cybercriminals to nation states, and this case is an example of how AI can help address these sophisticated security threats.
Buying is sometimes cheaper than building
The average CEO or CFO at a small business has absolutely no willingness to vibe code their own software
They would much rather click a button that functions all the time, and be able to call a customer support rep when that thing doesn’t work properly
Running a business within itself is already hard enough for most companies. The average small business CEO is juggling across 5 different custom problems of their own
To think that they would spend time building an entire tool, which some SaaS companies dedicate their entire workforce to, is just ignorant of how real life works
Maybe some startups and some massive enterprises with the resources to do it will build some of their own platforms
But the enormous middle, which is filled with SMBs and family businesses, can’t do it or won’t have the willingness to do it
And there is some incredible opportunity for a lot of folks that live in this middle
If you've been in crypto for the past year you've seen it. Hundreds of influencers and KOLs calling bottoms, tops, telling you to buy the dip. Most of them were wrong.
Most of them were farming engagement or shilling their own bags. And a lot of people lost real money listening to them.
If you're not here as a tourist, you've probably learned this the hard way: nobody is going to do this for you.
Learn to read charts. Learn to read data. Build your own conviction. Keep a very small circle of people you actually trust and cut out everything else. The less noise you consume, the better your decisions get.
Honestly, it might be time to clean up your following list.
