My sister uninvited me from her wedding because I wouldnβt let her use my house for the reception.
I have a decent-sized backyard with a pool, and she decided it would be perfect for her 80-person wedding. She called me one evening and announced that sheβd already started planning the layout.
She hadnβt asked me.
When I told her I wasnβt comfortable having that many people at my house, she said I was being selfish. Apparently, renting a venue was too expensive, and family was supposed to help family.
I offered to let her have a small bridal shower at my house instead. She said that wasnβt good enough.
Two days later, I received a message saying she didnβt think it was appropriate for me to attend the wedding because I clearly wasnβt supportive of her marriage.
