I got the first paperback copy of my new book today, the first full-length book I've written in a decade. It's a collection of 24 newsletter entries that I wrote over the course of 6 months plus 23 poker hand breakdowns that I wrote over the course of 1 week.
Thanks to @GmAvetik @PhilGalfond and @Carroters1 for inspiring me to start my own newsletter. I've found each of theirs to be entertaining, compelling, and useful. I get that they're mostly used as marketing tools, but I thought I might as well assemble mine into book form.

If you flip a coin and it lands on heads, is it more likely to be heads or tails on the next flip? What if it lands on heads twice in a row? Ten times in a row? One thousand times in a row?

Fun to get this @Jeopardy triple-stumper right, but also to know the desired response "Tang Dynasty" is maybe a bit sus because 690-705 was an interregnum.
I think this doubly disambiguated bishop capture checkmate thing is gonna catch on. I enjoyed the @ChessNetwork video so much, I had to try it myself. I did it without the clock because I'm much worse at chess than Jerry.

People say sitting on the couch watching chess YouTube doesn't help one improve, but I've done very little chess this year besides that and a multitude of anonymous bullet games. (Previous best was 56 perfect and 58 total.)

Opponent was kind enough to start me off with a Tactics 101 puzzle this morning, by which I mean the puzzle rating should be about 101.
It's one of those bad moves that's even worse than it first appears to the untrained eye, which will spot it nonetheless.
