POV: Me whining about RAMmageddon and explaining why we came up with this pre-order coupons for Flipper One campaign. TL;DR Memory prices is insane, we need to know in advance whether we can get enough orders.
Margin on this project are close to zero, so we’re hoping to make a profit after the Kickstarter. But no one knows when memory prices will normalize, tomorrow or in three years 👀
The GNU'ed people did this again — multiple implementations of the same tech with confusingly similar names. What the difference between Meshtastic and MeshCore. Which should I choose?
Flipper Hackspace now has its own @mesh_core repeater node covering North Greenwich, London. Fully solar-powered ☀️

Mom, look, i'm on TV!
Replying to @flipper_net
The problem is that conventional Linux distributions are designed for traditional computers/servers. They are not convenient for a multitool like Flipper One, which can be a network router, a radio lab, a desktop computer, or a TV media box all on the same device.
What we want to build into Flipper OS:
* System profiles — preconfigured operating system images for different tasks, such as a network router, radio lab, desktop computer, and TV media box. Each profile has its own settings, kernel, device tree, and set of applications.
* Unbreakable playground — users can clone profiles and modify anything inside them, from the kernel to the system files. You can install whatever you want without worrying about breaking the device.
* Reset to default — wow, what an innovation💀! Yet even in 2026, most Linux systems still don't let you roll back your changes and return to a clean system after breaking it.
* Atomic updates — updating Linux today is still an unpredictable operation. No matter how badly you've broken the system, we want to guarantee that it can still update to a new version.

🛰️Satellite modem demo on Flipper One — an emergency pager
Experimenting with satellite connectivity on Flipper One. The video shows an emergency SOS pager that sends your geolocation so you can be evacuated from a zombie apocalypse when there is no mobile coverage.
NTN (Non-Terrestrial Network) is a 3GPP standard in the LTE/5G family. It uses a regular SIM card and is supported by many modern smartphones and smartwatches. NTN is extremely slow and is billed per byte (!), but this is okay when you need to send tiny amounts of data: telemetry or short messages like “I’m alive, heart rate 80 bpm.”
In this demo, we use a Blues @buildwithblues NOTE-NGBLWX module that connects to a geostationary satellite on the Skylo @SkyloTech network and transmits data to a Blues NoteHub server.
We’re planning to develop a Flipper One IoT module that can serve as a backup communication channel for outdoor use or as an emergency gateway for alarm and monitoring IoT systems.

U-Boot menu now works on Flipper One
Now you can choose different kernels and systemd targets before the Linux kernel boots.
* It's our LCD/buttons driver plus a slightly modified vanilla U-Boot menu. Will try to upstream it to U-Boot.
* This is a temporary solution for testing the selection of different OS profiles. In the final version of Flipper OS, we’ll most likely draw the boot menu using a small program compiled into initramfs, after the kernel has started. But as a temporary solution, it works perfect.
* I’m still not happy with the cold boot time: from powering on the processor to having a working menu. Here’s the boot log with timestamps, captured from the processor console:

Today we officially announce Flipper One for the first time. It's a very exciting and scary moment.
Our experience with Flipper Zero showed that genuine passion and love for what you do can lead to amazing results. There are about 1 million Flipper Zero devices in people's hands now, and that's incredible. We built a huge community around it and inspired people to explore new technologies — and pushed vendors to make safer, more transparent products.
Flipper One is a deeply personal project. I've been thinking about the concept of a pocket Linux multi-tool for the last 10 years, but I always felt the available technology and components weren't good enough. It was important to me to release a product without compromises — one that's truly worth it. And now, it finally feels like the right time.
There's a lot of uncertainty in this project, along with technical challenges and financial risks (like the current RAM chip crisis). I don't know if we'll be able to do everything we've planned, but we'll give it everything we've got. Thank you all, and welcome to a new adventure.
We're finally ready to talk about Flipper One — a project we've been grinding on for years and have rebuilt from scratch several times. Read blog post >>

Accurate analog clock
I want an analog wall clock that is guaranteed to show the 100% accurate time. Down to the seconds hand.
Right now I’m using a radio-controlled clock synced to the UK’s MSF 60 kHz signal: brookpacelascelles.com/radio…
And somehow it still manages to be wrong for hours — sometimes off by +1 or −1 hour.
Probably signal distortion. This is ridiculous.
What I want:
• Sync over NTP (via internet)
• Cross-check with GPS + radio time signals
• PoE power + battery backup (so it never resets even if power fails)
There are things like this @TimeToolsUK timetoolsltd.com/products/sy…
but they’re all weird B2B gear you can’t just buy
Can someone please make a proper, civilian, high-quality analog wall clock?
My favourite part of development — trying to find the way to get access to ~$1M measurement hardware for a short period of time.
How do you debug USB-C DisplayPort (DP Alt Mode)?
You can connect Flipper One to a monitor with a single USB-C cable and get a full survivalist desktop. One cable handles power, video up to 4K@120Hz, and USB peripherals (mouse + keyboard).
But DP Alt Mode is very sensitive, and we need proper tools to debug it across different monitors.
Looking for ready-to-use solutions for PHY / signal integrity debugging:
📈 Ready to use Oscilloscope
🛠️ Fixtures + Probes
💿 Software for decoding & analysis
Goal: quickly understand where negotiation or signal breaks, without DIY soldering or building custom measurement setups (we’re in multi-GHz signals territory).
Companies like @Keysight @RohdeSchwarz @TeledyneLecroy @tektronix have solutions, but these are hard to access without long enterprise sales cycles.
Maybe @VESADisplay knows an easier path?
Any practical recommendations? 🙏
Aw yeah
Flipper One mechanics are now open
We’re releasing another repository — Flipper One Mechanics. This repo contains the source 3D models of the enclosure, back plates, and modules:

You can also explore the model in Onshape directly in your browser or mobile app, and export it in many formats: cad.onshape.com/documents/32…
SIM server for SMS and Calls forwarding
I have about a dozen SIM cards from different countries, and I need to receive SMS messages from banks and services on them.
Right now, I switch between different eSIM profiles — and it’s annoying, because in roaming it takes a long time to register on the network.
It should be able to:
• Receive SMS messages and forward them to Email or via HTTP API
• Send outgoing SMS messages and USSD requests on a schedule (to prevent the number from expiring)
• Forward incoming calls or enable an auto-answer feature
I assume this could be an Android app? Or maybe it’s better to use a dedicated device? Please advise.
Lol, its my screenshot. Check out the “kssh” command — its my alias for ssh disabling known_hosts check.
Looking for a Linux Distro master for a new Flipper One
We’re building a new Flipper One — it's a Linux-based ARM computer, and we want to make a custom Linux distro for it. Because it’s an embedded system, we don’t want to rely on legacy update methods like Debian’s APT.
Why classic APT-style updates don’t work for us:
• Updates can leave the system in an inconsistent state if interrupted
• No built-in way to roll back to a previous version
• No simple method to reset the system to factory settings
That’s why we’re looking for a Linux Distro Engineer to design a custom Linux distribution for Flipper One, based on a modern A/B partition, immutable root filesystem model with atomic upgrades. We plan to build on existing technologies such as SteamOS, OSTree, RAUC, or similar.
For user applications, we want a packaging method that isolates apps from the system and prevents breaking the OS — such as Flatpak, AppImage, or Snap.

Last night my Twitter account was hijacked.
I’ve now regained access and can tell the full story — it was a sophisticated phishing attack. Essentially, I handed over all my passwords and 2FA myself, so it’s entirely my fault.
1. I received an email (screenshot) claiming there was a content violation report. Since I occasionally get such emails, I instinctively clicked the link.
2. The domain looked very close to the real x[.]com, and I didn’t notice anything suspicious. The email didn’t go to spam and wasn’t flagged as suspicious.
3. I followed the link and, without thinking, entered both my password and 2FA — all in one click via my password manager. The trick was that although the domain was fake and didn’t recognized by password manager, I manually selected my Twitter credentials, thinking the appeal panel might use a subdomain.
After that, scammers spent the whole day posting crypto scam content from my name. They created a token called “flipper” through the @believeapp and some website selling crypto garbage. We tried to quickly ban the domains they were creating.
Lesson learned: I was careless — sick and clicking links at 2am. Let this be a warning for others.
Making an Undetectable Airtag
In one year of living in London, I’ve had 5 bikes stolen. The most expensive ones had multiple Airtags inside, which the thieves promptly found and removed.
Most likely, they bring the bike into a basement and use an Android app to detect the Airtags hidden in it.
Here’s the idea:
1. Insert a custom IC with a motion sensor and power switch between the battery and the Airtag.
2. When the bike is moving — cut the Airtag’s power.
3. When the bike hasn’t moved for over 5 hours — restore power to the Airtag.
I need help building this intermediary device with a motion sensor. The goal is for it to be as energy-efficient as possible (since an Airtag lasts about a year on one battery), and as small as possible.
VPN to home — residential IP via Apple TV + Tailscale
Need access to local services (banks, gov, etc.) while abroad? Regular VPNs won’t work — they look like datacenters. You need a residential home IP.
Here’s my favorite way:
1. Set up an Apple TV at home, enable HomeKit so it stays online
2. Install Tailscale and enable it as an exit node
3. Connect to it from your laptop via Tailscale client
Works super stable. Tailscale is an amazing VPN tool with top-tier docs. Highly recommend it.
Do you know why we haven't done anything new over the past couple of years? It's simply impossible to concentrate in the age of short videos on TikTok and Instagram, lol.
Meet our new device!
