I can hardly imagine anyone who hasn’t seen this photograph. But it was taken on this day in 2000.
I cannot believe the photo is 26 years old now.
The boy in the photograph was Fares Odeh. He was just 14 years old.
Ten days after this image was captured, Fares went out again to throw stones at Israeli tanks, seeking to avenge the killing of his 17-year-old cousin.
An Israeli sniper shot him in the neck, killing him.
And there is another chilling detail to this photograph.
The photo changed Israeli tank doctrine. In August 2001, The Jerusalem Post quoted an anonymous tank doctrinist saying tank personnel were now instructed to fire upon rock-throwers.

One of the things that really annoys me is the fact that the club wouldn’t give someone like Tuchel control over certain football matters so he wouldn’t come. A year later Amorim calls out the board in a press conference for the same issue and they sacked him immediately for it. If the club want to have control over significant football matters then they have to take responsibility when it goes wrong instead of hanging their manager out to dry. Part of the reason they hired Carrick is the same reason Wilcox wants to hire his mate steady Eddie. They trust that he will never expose them in a press conference and will conceal their incompetence. They aren’t picking the best manager for the club, they’re picking the best manager for themselves.

Man United with one of the worst ownership combos: American capitalists piling debt onto the club and a right-wing British billionaire out of his depth.

Since 2005 Premier League clubs have had a total interest cost on borrowings and financial debt of £3.5bn.
One club and one set of owners is responsible for 35% of the total.

"Sell United and f*k off home" sing MUFC fans, the only good thing about the club right now.
And it's right. The Glazers have made their money many times over for 21 years. Fans never wanted it and that takeover should never have been allowed. Do the right thing: sell up and go.

Cutting doctors’ pay won’t keep them in the NHS.
The DDRB must show its independence and recommend what patients and the NHS need, not what the Government is prepared to pay.

Jo Coburn’s politics poured out of her when she was a supposedly impartial BBC News anchor but, as with many BBC journalists, there was an element of plausible deniability. It’s good to see what was obvious confirmed but problematic that it was already apparent.
“[Saying] ‘Zionism is racism’ is offensive, it’s antisemitic and it’s dangerous”
Broadcaster Jo Coburn says she “watched in horror” as the Green Party passed its motion on Zionism and criticises leader Zack Polanski's defence in his #BBCLauraK interview

Can anyone remember the last time @BBCNews interviewed a Palestinian about their experience of the racism of Zionism? Having spent the last two weeks interviewing elderly Nakba survivors in Jordan, driven off their land in their teens because of their ethnicity and religion, I'd be happy to suggest some astonishingly articulate victims of Israeli racism who would be only too happy to tell their tragic stories of eviction, slaughter and dispossession. It is like reporting on the Civil Rights movement in the US and only interviewing outraged Whites

Either have Jason Wilcox (or Omar Berrada) address the media, take some bullets for Michael Carrick - the coach they have set up to fail - or announce that Wilcox is leaving the club. It is cowardly for Manchester United's leadership to keep hiding, ignoring it is not an option.
