Check out our newest paper (published today) in Nature Communications. In this study we demonstrate the metabolomic consequences of xenobiotic accumulation in coral reef ecosystems and their direct relationship to the loss of resilience to further disturbances.
TLDR: We discovered that contaminants from agricultural, industrial, and pharmaceutical sources accumulated in the soft tissues of coral around Maui, Hawai‘i.
One of the most exhausting projects from my PhD was published the other day. Very happy to finally have this out in the world.

The fifth chapter from my PhD, focussing on the induction of coral larval settlement from metabolites extracted from CCA was just published in @RSocPublishing! royalsocietypublishing.org/d…
We finalize the manuscript with an analysis of the extracted exometabolites using untargeted mass spectrometry (which I will not even attempt to summarize via twitter). If you're interested in learning more, check out the open access paper here: royalsocietypublishing.org/d…
Also if your REALLY invested in learning more, all of the code and data used within this manuscript is available from my github repo: github.com/Zquinlan/ccaSettl…
