I think I just made the biggest mistake of my life.
Tonight, I got a DM from a project about a potential collaboration deal. We discussed the details, and at the end of the conversation, they asked me to check out their app.
I downloaded it from the Apple App Store. When I opened it, the app asked me to create a password and then enter my wallet seed phrase.
At that moment, I had a feeling something was wrong. I knew this could be a scam, but for some reason, I still went ahead and entered the phrase for a wallet I barely used.
The worst part? I had recently transferred funds into that wallet and completely forgot about it.
Once they got my seed phrase, they accessed the wallet and transferred all my funds out.
I still can’t believe I made such a careless mistake. I’ve always known never to share a seed phrase, yet I fell for it myself.
This is a painful lesson, and honestly, I feel completely broken right now.
Please be careful with collaboration DMs, even when everything seems professional. An app being listed on the App Store doesn’t automatically make it safe.
Never enter your seed phrase into an app sent by someone you don’t fully trust. Your seed phrase gives full control of your wallet.
I’m sharing this because I don’t want anyone else to make the same mistake I did.
