Just days ago, we thought we were losing our beautiful Birdie, but our girl had other plans 🩷
And as soon as she was strong enough, she made her way back home. Back to her little retirement village and the life she's come to love so much.
It's moments like these that remind us why we do what we do.
Because if Birdie was still living on the streets, this might have been the end of her story.
But instead, she has a safe place to grow old. A bed to curl up in, friends to spend her days with, and people who love her more than she'll ever know.
And the best part is that none of this would be possible without the incredible community of people who care about dogs like Birdie.
You've helped give her something she never had before. A life worth fighting for 🥰

BREAKING: Protester thrown to ground taken into custody at Utah County meeting
Video from Tuesday night’s Utah County Commission meeting appears to show a protester being forced to the ground and taken into custody.
The commission had just approved changes to the county’s land use ordinance allowing data centers in Mining and Grazing and Industrial zones, creating a Data Center Overlay Zone and setting development standards.
A statement from UT for the People — No Tech Billionaires — said the protester was not being vocal when officers took her into custody and called her treatment unjust. The group said tensions rose after the vote, as residents yelled in opposition to the ordinance.

🚨 Breaking: DHS lifted the funding freeze on Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley, and Sister Norma Pimentel announced it on September 25, 2026 at the Texas Tribune Festival in Austin.
The ban had been imposed last November after an audit found grant violations, including inconsistent migrant data and billing beyond the 45 day federal limit. DHS had sought a six-year debarment, but after the charity met with officials in Washington and signed an administrative agreement, the freeze was lifted and they’re eligible for federal grants again. Catholic charities played a huge role in the child smuggling pipeline. I covered their operations for months on end…
