Otherside: Endgame for User-Generated Worlds
1/
Minecraft: $5B+ revenue, 140M MAU, still growing
Roblox: $3B+ revenue, 85M DAU, $25B+ market cap
Both are closed gardens.
Creators get ~30% rev share, platforms take the rest forever.
People say “Web3 can’t compete with them.”
They’re wrong. The meta is finally catching up.
2/
Yuga didn’t just build a metaverse demo in 2022 and walk away.
They spent 3 years quietly turning Otherside into the first real open-world platform that can actually eat Minecraft/Roblox lunch.
The weapon just dropped: The Nexus.
3/
What is The Nexus?
A one-click portal hub that lets ANY project, ANY creator, ANY voxel world plug directly into Otherside’s ecosystem — with full interoperability, shared economy, and real ownership.
Think Roblox “experiences” page… but you actually own your game, your items cross worlds, and revenue isn’t taxed 70% in perpetuity.
4/
How it competes:
Minecraft → Closed source, no native UGC economy beyond Realms
Otherside + Nexus → Fully open, NFT-owned land/worlds, items travel everywhere, creator royalties on-chain forever
Roblox → 70%+ platform cut, assets locked inside Roblox
Otherside + Nexus → 0% mandatory platform cut (only gas), assets portable, revenue routes chosen by creator
5/
The killer feature nobody is talking about yet:
Cross-world persistence + composability.
You can build a sword in one creator’s world, take it to another creator’s dungeon, upgrade it with a third creator’s forge, then sell it on a fourth creator’s marketplace.
Minecraft mods don’t talk to each other. Roblox games are silos.
Otherside is becoming the Linux of virtual worlds.
6/
Creator economy flip:
Roblox 2024: creators earned ~$800M total (after Roblox took their 70%)
Otherside potential: 100% of secondary royalties + direct sales + land rent + item sales + tipping — all on-chain, composable, portable.
A single hit world inside The Nexus can become a perpetual cash-flow asset instead of a one-year Roblox fad.
7/
The flywheel nobody sees yet:
1. Big IP (Gucci, BMW, 10KTF, etc.) launches flagship worlds → attracts normie traffic
2. Indie creators launch next door, piggyback on traffic via The Nexus
3. Players bring items across experiences → network effects
4. Best creators earn 10-100x Roblox rates → talent flood begins
5. More worlds → more reasons to own land → more demand for trips/Kodas/APE → higher baseline value
8/
This isn’t another 2022 “metaverse” vaporware pitch.
- Second Trips already proved thousands of concurrent users
- The Nexus tech is live in alpha right now
- Major partners already quietly building (you’ll hear soon)
- The M2 standard is open. Anyone can build and plug in tomorrow
9/
Bottom line: Minecraft and Roblox won the last 15 years because they were the only scalable sandbox platforms.
Otherside + The Nexus is the first credible open alternative that gives creators real ownership and 10x economics.
The portal war just started.
The closed gardens are about to get overrun.

Woah😯
Today is a special day for me.
I’m making a long-term investment in Otherside and acquiring over 5,000 Otherdeeds, Mega Kodas and Weapon Kodas direct from @yugalabs to continue building my collection. I have also committed to making a series of acquisitions on the open market this year. I have recently seen Yuga refocus and prioritize @othersidemeta. There is a lot riding on this project for the whole space and I will do my best to help make it a success for everyone. 🙏

Dear Bathroom Dwellers,
I hope you're enjoying the Bathroom Blitz experience by @cmnd_line, the first persistent experience on @OthersideMeta.
I wanted to reach out today to give you a brief update on things regarding awards and these Season Zero packs we've been discussing.
My benevolent Tech-Oracles are tracking over 50 separate "events" and "achievements".
The aforementioned data will be parsed through our highly advanced parsing system to quantify Awards.
Awards will be given to 36% of the participants.
The more elite the Award the more Season Zero packs you will attain.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Maybe you're not that good at the game, that's ok, buddy. Just because you didn't get an award doesn't mean you won't get packs. EVERYONE who plays, spends time and shoots enough rounds will get something, don't worry.
More to tell you Friday (still Thursday for me for a few hrs). Lastly, our Leaderboard, which is currently under construction, will be done pretty quick. We're literally building the airplane as we're flying so we appreciate your patience.
Much Love and Thanks for Playing,
Doom

SHIT’S GOING DOWN.
We’re hyped to see you plunge headfirst into the fist public ODK experience for Otherside, created by @cmnd_line.
Go ahead, clog up your schedule.
Bathroom Blitz is LIVE. Time to let it rip.
You have two weeks to show off your skills and wipe the floor with your opponents for a chance to win loot and prizes along the way.

Today's Bathroom Blitz went well. Avatars look great in there - BAYC, Meebs and Kodas blasting eachother.
Footage acquired, some Easter Eggs discovered (I'm looking at you, @spicytinaa) and more people realizing just how hard Kodas are to kill.
Lots to do, long days until we're live - can't wait to get you all in there so I can push you into the toilet.
Bathroom Blitz game testing this morning between @BoredApeYC and @cmnd_line. These are both a blast and completely necessary to gather feedback and look for errors and anomalies. I can’t wait to get everyone in there.
After that I’m meeting with my dev team about <redacted> and <redacted>. If our theories are correct - and there’s nothing but brilliant, seasoned, bad-ass MFers at this table - these two moonshots will be some of the most fun we’ve ever had building and running anything.

Crypto is quietly breaking more people than it’s making rich.
No one wants to admit it, but this space is brutal... not just financially, but mentally, emotionally, and physically.
The market never sleeps, and neither do we. There’s no off switch. Even when you're out of a trade, your brain is racing: What’s next? What did I miss? Should I be rotating, scaling, exiting, aping?
The FOMO is relentless and the pressure to always be 'on' eats away at you.
We romanticize the upside: the pumps, the 100x plays, the passive income. But underneath it all is a constant state of mental warfare.
It’s decision fatigue at scale -> Endless opportunities -> Infinite tabs -> Conflicting opinions -> And a voice in your head that whispers: 'If you stop, you’ll fall behind.'
And let’s not even get started on Crypto Twitter: where people with zero identity or accountability will tear you down for sport.
One bad call and the pitchforks come out. It's a culture of ego, toxicity, and projection… all disguised as 'alpha.'
Add to that the physical toll:
- Poor sleep
- High cortisol
- Dopamine addiction from volatility
A body trained to stress every time your phone buzzes. This isn’t just trading, this is full-scale stimulation overload. And the truth? Most people burning out in this space won’t even realize it until it’s too late.
You don’t need to catch every move. You don’t need to be online 24/7.
You need rest. You need perspective. You need longevity.
Because the ultimate alpha isn’t a 100x. It’s being mentally clear, emotionally grounded, and physically well, while everyone else is spiraling.
Take care of yourself. The market will still be here tomorrow. There is always another opportunity.
Excited and looking forward to the upcoming launch!🤩 @OthersideMeta is a new page in the gaming industry, people just don't realize it yet💣💯

Otherside Update 🧵
But first, let’s take a look at some of the things we’ve been building.
Astray retweeted
Someone asked me during the live stream on Tuesday, “What sort of games am I excited for in @OthersideMeta ?”
Had to think deeply on it for a second.
We know that Otherside experiences will be built utilizing ODK tech inside of Unreal Engine. This allows for larger scale triple-A devs or even capable indie devs, to comfortably come in and develop.
The familiar systems like visual scripting with blueprints will be there, along with other base creative features from Uneal that fit professional game art methods.
In turn this allows for a more robust catalog of games for a metaverse. Not restricting us to drag and drop features that are locked in and cannot be expanded on. These will be full fledged games that follow the standard game development pipelines.
Realizing this though, there suddenly is a high bar of entry for community members to jump in. At least for those who are enthusiastic and dedicated to the scene and eager to participate, yet have little to no real game development knowledge at this time.
Where there is a Ying, there is a Yang though.
These triple-A and indie devs will have had a bar lowered for them! The @MSquared_io tech inside the ODK has now given these devs the power to take their worlds online with hundreds if not thousands of people. No longer having to worry about the networking side of the game design.
On the other hand, I fear that those community members with a lower level of knowledge in game design, may shy away from participating due to things being just a little too complex to get started. They will be able to play the games just fine, but creating a unique world for themselves will take more work.
So where does that leave us?
When Otherside goes live, we know that we will see official experiences from Yuga come out along with some dedicated third party devs like @CryptoVonDoom and his team over at @cmnd_line .
Once these professionals and Indie devs really sink their teeth into the ODK and how it functions, we will see a roll out of templates, blueprints, tutorials, file sharing and the like.
I imagine a marketplace powered by @ApeChainHUB for artists and game devs to distribute their work to help others build their worlds. From 3d models to code, we will see it all I am sure!
As Otherside continues to bring us all together through its games and experiences, we will start to see more users having basic understanding of games as a whole.
From uploading and exporting 3d models, to trouble shooting textures and skeleton rigs for characters. The eager ones will make this their duty so that they may continue their web3 journey inside the Otherside, which in my opinion is the next level up for Web3 games as a whole.
From there, we will start to see something interesting happen. Suddenly the bar of entry gets lowered once again! Community members will enter the Otherside and ODK as not only a player but as a dev as well.
This is where I found my answer.
I am truly excited for the influx of small worlds, built by small teams or single devs. Their passion and interest in bringing their own world to life inside Otherside will tear down any barriers holding them back from doing so. And with the support, tools and assets provided by the community, almost nothing will stop them from doing so.
Since these worlds will be built for specific purposes and for specific communities, this is where the magic of the Otherside will shine.
While phones and social media apps have allowed everyone to become a blog poster, photographer and video editor in a relatively short amount of time, Otherside will provide us with the tools to be a game dev and bring worlds online to the masses in a short amount of time as well for our web3 communities and beyond.
Truly exciting stuff!
With all that said, whether its a simple hang out room for just chatting and vibing made by one person. Or a theater and gallery built by an indie team to host events. Or triple-A game with complex mechanics and a vast world for exploration. We will be immersed in the worlds we visit and play because of the one consistent factor in all of this. We are building, playing, and experiencing all this with our community and friends right by our side.
See you in the Otherside Voyagers! 🫡

Otherside: 1st and 2nd Phases
Had a bit of discussion regarding the upcoming @OthersideMeta launch and its potential. Wanted to share some thoughts from Discord here.
🧭 What we know so far:
1) The first phase is set to launch in June, where we’ll be able to explore Nexus, Biogenic Swamp, and Meetropolis. In terms of experiences, here’s what we know has already been presented:
Bubbles – I hope it’ll shift our communities from X and Discord into @OthersideMeta.
Poker
Bathroom Blitz
Project Dragon
Nexus
iNPCs, teased by @CryptoGarga in late 2024
Other experiences built with ODK, including our @PrimalOtherside
🔍 What to expect from the first phase:
This isn’t an easy question. I see it as a persistent launch — 24/7 access to @OthersideMeta — essentially a large-scale test-drive and preparation for the winter release.
My expectations are conservative, but there are a few strong levers that could make it impactful:
1. REDACTED
An in-house reward for Voyagers, Kodas, Apes, and BAKC holders — potentially an airdrop. Once @yugalabs starts teasing it, it will undoubtedly attract a lot of attention.
@CryptoGarga recently said they wouldn’t “waste their gunpowder” while the market looks like a dogshit. But since then, ETH printed a candle we haven’t seen in a long time — maybe we’re closer to REDACTED than we were just a few weeks ago.
2. Marketing
We need to attract people from outside the core community. While there are just 10,000 BAYC and 20,000 MAYC, there are 100,000 Deeds — and an unlimited number of players that could be brought into the @OthersideMeta experience.
Without serious marketing, we won’t even activate 5% of that potential. Yuga clearly understands this — it’s been mentioned that marketing is expected to ramp up around the persistent launch (probably linked to market conditions, just like REDACTED).
3. WTF is Koda?
According to the last Discord AMA, @CryptoGarga and the team are focused on revealing Koda lore. Kodas are deeply tied to Nexus, and I expect lots of quests involving them — possibly with the iNPCs teased earlier.
If we manage to maintain around 500 concurrent users long-term during Phase 1 (pre-winter), I’d call that a big success.
❄️ Phase 2: Winter Release
The winter release is an entirely different beast. It’s the biggest potential catalyst — not just for Yuga, but for the entire NFT space. Here’s why:
🔹 1) A limitless Metaverse with a massive economy:
74 resource types, in 3 tiers, divided into 4 categories
74 artifacts — some tied to farming, others to lore and easter eggs
Unlimited opportunities for creators, from major studios to solo builders.ODK is the gateway — your imagination is the only limit.
ODK Blueprints — these will consume resources. The crazier your vision, the rarer the materials you’ll need (at least based on what we know today).
🔹 2) Potential to be the largest GameFi project in Web3
Let’s be honest: the scale, quality, and economic possibilities of Otherside are insane. Degens will ape in to farm, and builders will ape in to create.
🔹 3) Yuga + Metaverse + GameFi + Builders
The potential success of this combo can’t even be measured — there’s nothing else to compare it to.
From the biggest FUD case to potentially the biggest catalyst in NFTs.
The ones who once shaped the sector may now resurrect it.
Come prepared.
This is the year of Otherside.
LFG! @OthersideMeta Just break the Guinness World Record! Congrats to all who was involved for such a huge achievement🏆🥳
