Alarming but true: 22% of ALL takeout + food delivery orders included plastic foam foodware packaging. That means a MINIMUM of 5.6 billion pieces of plastic foam foodware are used by people across the U.S. every year. Learn more at WhatTheFoam.org! 🔗

What #marinedebris is in our water? The 13,000+ lbs removed by last year's Clean Your Streams volunteers helps paint a picture. Almost 1/2 was single-use food and bev. packaging, showing what a difference we can make when we use reusables. #LakeErieStartsHere #CitizenScience

We're kicking off #SaltAwarenessWeek sharing some research from @LakeErieCenter on road salt's hidden impacts on animal and plant life in the #GreatLakes. If you're an angler, road salt might be affecting the fish you catch. #LakeErieStartsHere

DON'T USE TOO MUCH SALT Rain is in the forecast for the next 2 days and with so much salt still on the ground from last week's storm, it could be washed away into our storm drains and then into our waters where it affects water quality, aquatic life, soil and vegetation #snow
