Now we have them realising that we voted for an absolute shambles of a deal that has left us weaker and at the behest of the tangerine traitor. xitter.cf/BBCNewsnight/status/19…
Nail on the head, too many fell for the lies the of the Leave campaign's promises to alleviate the consequences of the political choices of a government which had nothing whatsoever to do with the EU, look no further than this embarrassing video, embarrassing if you fell for it..

🚨🙋‍♀️ Listen to BBC Breakfast’s political correspondent Jack Fenwick Labour’s 2024 Brexit red lines 👉no Single Market, no customs union, no freedom of movement, “only last until the next general election”. And he says it is looking increasingly likely @AndyBurnham will go into that election with “something new, something different” that will not necessarily stick to those red lines. On freedom of movement, Fenwick adds: “I think we can read into that that freedom of movement is likely to be a big part of that conversation.” That comes after Burnham said he would like to see the UK rejoin the EU in his lifetime and before he sets out options for Britain’s future relationship with Europe around the 20 November summit. This is now a debate about which red lines go, how far Britain moves back towards Europe and what democratic mandate authorises it.
BBC News ,"Brexit seems to be something that Andy Burnham's government is far more willing to talk about than Keir Starmer's government ever was" "Labour's red lines only last till the next general election" "And it's looking increasingly likely that Andy Burnham will go into that election with a pledge for something new, something different" "Could that include Freedom of Movement? Angela Rayner said: nothing is off the table" "The Liberal Democrats says Freedom of Movement would be good for growth in the economy" My view: One of the great ironies of Brexit is that Britain ended Freedom of Movement in the name of reducing immigration, only to experience record levels of immigration under the system introduced by the very Brexiters who promised to reduce it. Under Freedom of Movement, migration was reciprocal. Europeans could come to Britain to work, study and build careers, while British citizens enjoyed precisely the same rights across the EU. Many people moved between countries as employment opportunities changed, including seasonal and temporary workers who did not necessarily settle permanently. Boris Johnson's government replaced that system with one that increasingly recruited workers and students from outside the EU, including routes allowing longer-term residence and family dependants. Net migration subsequently soared, reaching 944,000 in the year to March 2023, before falling substantially following tighter visa rules. But Freedom of Movement was never simply about immigration. It was about freedom, opportunity and economic prosperity for British citizens too. It gave young Britons the opportunity to live, work and study across Europe without expensive visa applications or employer sponsorship. It allowed businesses to recruit talent easily, helped British companies expand into European markets, supported our NHS, hospitality, agriculture and construction industries, and made cross-border careers considerably easier. It also offered something much harder to quantify: the freedom to experience different cultures, learn languages, build relationships, start businesses and retire elsewhere in Europe without the barriers Brexit subsequently erected. And importantly, Freedom of Movement was a two-way relationship, not the one-way immigration arrangement its opponents so frequently portrayed. Brexit didn't just take opportunities away from Europeans wanting to come here. It took opportunities away from millions of British people who had enjoyed those rights for decades. Restoring Freedom of Movement would not automatically guarantee lower migration, but it would restore valuable freedoms, strengthen economic ties and give the next generation opportunities that Brexit unnecessarily removed. That deserves a serious national conversation, rather than another campaign built around frightening people about immigration.

Apparently, the full video hasn't been released. I'm intrigued to discover what additional footage could possibly make monkey gestures and racist slurs acceptable.

⏰ For six years since Britain left the Single Market, I’ve been waiting for a Prime Minister prepared to explain why we may have to go back in. Because of food security, energy security, investment, supply chains and national resilience. You cannot build a serious food-security strategy while putting permanent barriers between Britain and its largest neighbouring food market. You cannot talk about sovereignty while becoming more dependent on fragile global supply chains for food, fuel and fertiliser. And you cannot repair Brexit properly while refusing even to discuss the obligations that come with deeper European integration. At last we have a Prime Minister @andyburnham prepared to start giving the country some of the hard truths 👏 This conversation is long overdue.

He didn’t refuse to sell you fuel because you’re white. He refused because he’s heard your racist views. If a garage owner refused to serve an Asian man who called for white people to be deported, nobody would bat an eyelid. You can’t campaign to have people removed from the country, then cry when they don’t want you in their businesses. Put your big boy pants on and accept that words have consequences.

‘Pure arrogance’: anger in Finland as Google illegally fells 250,000 trees for datacentre @guardian “Behind a wire fence lies a vast gaping wound of earth. Before Google’s arrival a few months ago, an estimated quarter of a million trees occupied the 330 hectares (815 acres) of forest near the town of Muhos in rural northern Finland. Now they are all gone” Yet again our Natural world pays the price for humankind’s commercial drive, this time to continue expansion of the booming artificial intelligence & data industry Will we ever stop plundering our beautiful planets natural resources? theguardian.com/environment/…

“I would like to see that happen in my lifetime” Prime Minister Andy Burnham tells Good Morning Britain he believes Brexit has weakened the UK economy and its control over immigration. But he insists the British public must have the final say, ruling out a move to rejoin the EU during this Parliament.

Apart from forcing hundreds of thousands in to poverty with a £20billion cut to the benefit bill - based on the pretence they are foreigners (56% are protected under Brexit reciprocal arrangements), many more have worked and paid tax here Also 68000 job cuts to civil service in first year - more poverty and benefit spending....

Some are claiming that freedom of movement with the EU would mean hundreds of millions of Europeans wanting to come to Britain. They didn’t do that before 2016. The scale of the claim is absurd. And more importantly, free movement never meant anyone could simply move here indefinitely without meeting any conditions. After three months, people who weren’t working, studying or genuinely seeking work could lose their right to reside if they also lacked sufficient resources and health insurance. David Cameron’s government chose not to enforce those rules. Blaming free movement for that choice doesn’t make the scare stories true.
