๐ Detective Mike Davis Jr. was a Placer County Sheriffโs detective, a husband, and a father of four. His own father had also been killed in the line of duty.
๐ Deputy Danny Oliver was a Sacramento County Sheriffโs deputy, a husband, and a father of two daughters.
On October 24, 2014, these two men put on their badges and went to work protecting their communities.
Neither made it home.
Bracamontes murdered them both. And when he stood trial, he showed no remorse. Instead, he openly threatened to escape prison and kill again.
A jury sentenced him to death.
NOW GOVERNOR GAVIN NEWSOM WANTS TO COMMUTE HIS DEATH SENTENCE TO LIFE WITHOUT PAROLE.
But California keeps changing its laws and rules, giving convicted murderers new opportunities to seek release.
